Arrangement and method for aligning at least one note of value
An apparatus for aligning notes of value along a transport path has a note reader with a scanning line with areas detection areas there along. The scanning areas are arranged along a line orthogonally with respect to a central axis of the transport path. A first and at least one second transport elements serve to transport the note along the transport path in at least one transport direction. The transport elements each contact the note in a contact area. At least one aligning apparatus is used for aligning the note, which is arranged between the first and second transport elements and forms a section of the transport path. The note reader detects the trailing edge of the note in a first scanning area and in a second scanning area.
Single continuous belt in an escrow subassembly
An escrow unit has an escrow wheel and a movable-continuous belt. The escrow wheel rotates about an axis. The movable-continuous belt is wrapped partially around the escrow wheel forming an open gap between the belt and escrow wheel. The open gap allows the belt to transport a document through the open gap and to store the document by holding the document between the belt and the escrow wheel.

Contact Stripper/Feed Wheel Implementation
An embodiment includes an apparatus in an ATM to transport a document. The apparatus includes a feed wheel, a stripping tire, a clutch outer-hub and a clutch inner-hub. The feed wheel may be rotated by a first-rotational driver to move the document in a forward direction while the stripping tire is rotated by movable contact with the feed wheel. The clutch inner-hub prevents the stripping tire from rotating in a direction to cause the document to move in a reverse direction when the first-rotational driver rotates the feed wheel. Alternatively, the stripping tire is rotated by a second-rotational driver to move the document in the reverse direction when the feed wheel is not rotated by a first-rotational driver while the clutch outer-hub prevents the stripping tire from rotating in a direction to cause the document to move in the forward direction.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING SKEW OF BANKNOTES IN ATM
The present invention relates to an apparatus for detecting a skew of banknotes in an automated teller machine (ATM), and particularly, to an apparatus for detecting a skew of banknotes in an ATM capable of more effectively and accurately detecting a defective conveying state of the banknotes passing through a conveying route by including sensors on the conveying route, where the banknotes put into the ATM are conveyed, at regular intervals from each other along a direction crossing the conveying route and detect tips of the banknotes passing through the conveying route to separately detect skew angles for each sector of the banknotes passing through the conveying route based on banknote tip detection signals detected from each detection sensor and support detection of various types of skews of the banknotes, including one-way skew of the banknotes and V-shaped skew at both ends inclined in different directions.

Paper sheet processing system and paper sheet processing method
According to one embodiment, a paper sheet processing system includes a paper sheet processing apparatus which includes an inspection device, a reject device, and a first communication module, and a robot device which includes a robot arm and a second communication module. The reject device rejects a rejected paper sheet and a batch card to a rejecting port. When the batch card is detected, the first communication module transmits a predetermined signal to the robot device. Upon receiving the predetermined signal, the robot device takes the rejected paper sheet and the batch card out of the rejecting port by the robot arm, moves them to another storage section, and transmits a move completion signal to the paper sheet processing apparatus.

A CENTER DE-SKEW SUBASSEMBLY TO CENTER ALIGN DOCUMENTS
A center-alignment apparatus for use in an ATM has a transport mechanism to transport a document into the ATM. One or more plates operable in tandem to move the document toward a centerline of a path the document is to travel. Edge-detection sensor(s) on the plate sense an edge of the document when the plate(s) is moved toward the centerline. A translate/rotate mechanism translates and rotates the document while the translate/rotate mechanism transversely moves the document toward the center until another edge-detection sensor detects an edge of the document to create a parallel-aligned document. The control logic controls the plate(s) to centers the parallel-aligned document about the centerline to create a centered document.
