The transport system includes a pass-through pathway structured to transport transaction media between the first media aperture and the second media aperture, a concurrent use pathway structured to transport transaction media from at least one of the first media aperture and the second media aperture to the vault, and a dispense pathway structured to transport transaction media from the vault to at least one of the first media aperture and the second media aperture.

A medium storage box includes a guide member and a liquid spraying mechanism. The guide member forms a stacking space for a medium. The liquid spraying mechanism sprays a liquid from a liquid spraying nozzle. The liquid spraying nozzle has a pipe section through which liquid flows, a first liquid spray hole and a second liquid spray hole. The first liquid spray hole sprays liquid in a direction that intersects an extension direction of the pipe section at substantially a right angle. The second liquid spray hole sprays liquid in a direction that is approximately the extension direction of the pipe section.

A medium storage box includes a guide member and a liquid spraying mechanism. The guide member forms a stacking space for a medium. The liquid spraying mechanism sprays a liquid from a liquid spraying nozzle. The liquid spraying nozzle has a pipe section through which liquid flows, a first liquid spray hole and a second liquid spray hole. The first liquid spray hole sprays liquid in a direction that intersects an extension direction of the pipe section at substantially a right angle. The second liquid spray hole sprays liquid in a direction that is approximately the extension direction of the pipe section.

A shutter module of a media handling device is provided. The module includes a shutter blade and a fan. The shutter blade includes a hollow interior compartment designed to house air pumped into the compartment by the fan and to expel the air out through a vent in the blade when the blade is in an open position. The expelled air creates an air shield with the air being directed away from an aperture to prevent debris from entering the aperture when the blade is opened. The blade, when a closed position, covers the aperture sealing and protecting a media deposit/dispense slot of the media handling device from access. In an embodiment, the fan is continuously pumping air into the compartment when the blade is in the open position to expel the air out the vent and when the blade is in the closed position to keel the compartment pressurized.
