Disclosed herein are financial article handling devices comprising an external aperture connected to a rotary table. The rotary table can contain two or more financial article handling units disposed on the rotary table, each of which can be configured to form an interface with the external aperture. The financial article handling devices can receive an indication from a first financial article handling unit that the first financial article handling unit is no longer functional, disconnect the first financial article handling unit from the external aperture, and articulate the rotary table such that a second financial article handling unit is in communication with the external aperture.

In the present invention to implement the objectives, a bundle module of the medium deposit device, in which deposit media in units of bundles are input or which receives rejected bill media in units of bundles, includes a transfer path which provides a deposit path or reject path of media, a first belt which is provided above the transfer path and rotatably driven, a second belt which is provided under the transfer path and rotatably driven and on which the media are loaded and stacked, and a guide unit which is provided at one side of the first belt to provide a transfer surface for the deposited or rejected media, wherein, when the media are rejected, the guide unit rotates to be inclined downward toward one side so that a leading end portion of a rejected following medium is positioned on and overlaps a rear end portion of a rejected leading medium.

An abnormal state of a valuable medium handling apparatus is efficiently eliminated. A money handling apparatus 1 holds data indicating whether or not it is covered by a maintenance service. The money handling apparatus 1 is communicably connected to a maintenance center server 80 disposed outside a branch. When an abnormal state such as jamming or miscalculation of money is detected (S1), the money handling apparatus 1 confirms whether or not it is covered by the maintenance service (S2). If the money handling apparatus 1 is covered by the maintenance service, it is notified to an operator (S3). The money handling apparatus 1 performs a fallback operation to restrict a function related to the abnormality (S4), and notifies the maintenance center server 80 of the abnormality (S5).
