Disclosed herein are financial article handling devices comprising an external aperture connected to a rotary table. The rotary table can contain two or more financial article handling units disposed on the rotary table, each of which can be configured to form an interface with the external aperture. The financial article handling devices can receive an indication from a first financial article handling unit that the first financial article handling unit is no longer functional, disconnect the first financial article handling unit from the external aperture, and articulate the rotary table such that a second financial article handling unit is in communication with the external aperture.

A sheet processing apparatus includes first and second sheet processing modules, a connecting module, and a storage module. In each of the first and second sheet processing modules, a sheet received from an entrance port is identified by an identifying unit, and if the sheet is qualified, the sheet is transported to a first communication port through a first transport path. In the connecting module, a first diverter mechanism is configured to permit sheet transport between a second communication port and a selected one of the first and second sheet processing modules. The storage module is disposed for receiving and storing the sheet from the connecting module.

A sheet processing apparatus includes first and second sheet processing modules, a connecting module, and a storage module. In each of the first and second sheet processing modules, a sheet received from an entrance port is identified by an identifying unit, and if the sheet is qualified, the sheet is transported to a first communication port through a first transport path. A money depositing and dispensing device includes a storing unit, a conveying unit, a power-supply operation unit, a power-supply control unit, and a display control unit. The storing unit stores money. The conveying unit conveys the money. The power-supply operation unit receives operation concerning a power supply of the money depositing and dispensing device. If the power-supply operation unit receives the operation, on condition that the money conveyed by the conveying unit is absent, the power-supply control unit turns off the conveying unit. On condition that the conveying unit is conveying the money, the display control unit causes a display unit to display an image indicating a reason for not turning off the conveying unit.

A packaging apparatus and a transport device adapted to feed one or several packets and/or bundles to the packaging apparatus. At least one storage device, which is adapted to receive one or several packets and/or bundles, and a control device, which is adapted to control the at least one storage device such that the one or several packets and/or bundles are temporarily stored in the storage device for as long as the transport device and/or the packaging apparatus cannot receive any further packets and/or bundles.

A system and a corresponding method for processing and packaging value documents having a processing apparatus, which is adapted to process, value documents, at least one bundling device, which is adapted to bundle processed value documents in packets and/or to bundle one or several packets. A packaging apparatus and a transport device adapted to feed one or several packets and/or bundles to the packaging apparatus. Before or after each bundle is labeled, an image of the bundle is detected with the aid of a control device to ascertain the actual serial number of the bundle and compare it to the serial number that belongs to the machine-readable information. In dependence on whether or not the actual visible serial number of the respective bundle matches the visible serial number belonging to the machine-readable information for the bundle, the respective bundle is further processed (e.g., packed by a packing apparatus) or not processed.

The maintenance management apparatus is configured for scheduling the maintenance appointment for the automated machine, in response to scheduling the maintenance appointment and creating and communicating a maintenance security code to the automated machine. The automated machine is configured for receiving a request from a maintenance provider to initiate the maintenance appointment, validating the maintenance provider using the maintenance security code and providing access to a secure item storage unit, determining that the maintenance provider has completed the maintenance appointment, and communicating information associated with the maintenance appointment to the maintenance management apparatus and/or a computing device of the maintenance provider.
