Fraud Mitigation Via Wireless Communication of Dynamic Transaction Cards
20220051266 · 2022-02-17 ·

Systems and methods disclosed herein provide fraud mitigation via dynamic transaction card wireless communication. A mobile device may cause a dynamic transaction card to periodically scan its environment to detect wireless enabled devices proximately located near the dynamic transaction card. Based on identifying the wireless enabled devices frequently located near the dynamic transaction card, a set of approved devices may be determined. During a transaction, a dynamic transaction card may scan its environment for other wireless enabled devices proximately located near the dynamic transaction card. If wireless enabled devices detected by the dynamic transaction card are all, or a subset, of the devices that are frequently located near the card, then the transaction may be authorized. However, if the wireless enabled devices detected by the dynamic transaction card are not all, or a subset, of the devices that are frequently located near the card, then the transaction may be unauthorized.

Authentication system for controlling access and use based on heartbeat shape

Authentication system for enabling access or use includes a housing, a database of fingerprint and heartbeat data, a fingerprint sensor having a surface on an exterior of the housing onto which a person places their finger, and a heartbeat monitor that obtains data about presence of any heartbeat from a person whose fingers are placed onto the surface of the fingerprint sensor. A processor coupled to the fingerprint sensor, heartbeat monitor and database operatively compares the obtained fingerprint and heartbeat shape derived from heartbeat data to corresponding fingerprint and heartbeat shape data to determine whether the fingerprint and heartbeat shape data are indicative of a person authorized for access or use. Only if both the fingerprint and heartbeat shape data are indicative of the same person authorized for access or use, the processor authorizes access or use, e.g., to a cellphone, of a payment card, and to an access-controlled structure.

Prepaid, debit and credit card security code generation system

This invention is a comprehensive “Dynamic Security Code” (“DSC”) System (“DSC System”) that can change the security code of a prepaid, debit, or credit card (“Payment Card”). In an effort to thwart Card-Not-Present (“CNP”) fraud, the DSC System provides dynamic security code values (“DSC Values”) that have a limited use. The DSC Values provided by this DSC System can be calculated by various methodologies and can be used within existing standard payment card infrastructures. The DSC System can also be used with other form factors and in other environments not related to payments such as balance inquiries. The DSC Values can be calculated by a DSC Generator Server or on the card itself.

Method for authentication of mobile transactions using video encryption and method for video encryption

The present invention relates to a method which aims to improve data security in mobile payment transactions. To achieve this goal, we propose a highly secure method for transactions validation through video encryption and a new view of secrecy based on the combination of encrypted video (102, 203, 305) and a transparent safe card (110, 202, 307) with unique secret pattern (111, 308). This safe card (110, 202, 307) is shown as a translucent or transparent device capable of acting as “layer” or decoding mask using visual cryptography techniques. Additionally, it is proposed in one embodiment of the present invention a method for encryption of unencrypted video (602) through a frame analysis module (601) and a frame recomposition module (612).

SECURE, LOW-COST, PRIVACY-PRESERVING BIOMETRIC CARD

One example method includes generating a biometric of a user, requesting, and receiving, biometric data from a card, comparing the biometric data with the biometric, and when the biometric data matches data of the biometric, authorizing a transaction requested by a user using the card. The request for biometric data may identify what particular type of biometric data is compatible with the device making the request, and the biometric data may be a subset of the data that makes up the biometric.

Gesture-Controlled Payment Instrument

The present disclosure relates to user authentication using a contactless payment instrument. The contactless payment instrument includes a contactless chip and a gesture control module. The user makes one or more gestures at an access device during a card-present transaction scenario and the gestures are validated and the authentication status is determined by matching the gesture made by the user at the time of the transaction with one or more predefined gestures. If the authentication is successful, the payment instrument transmits the payment information required for conducting the transaction.

IC CARD, PROCESSING METHOD, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM

Provided is an IC card (100) including a communication unit (102) that performs communication with an external device, a storage unit (104) that has tamper resistance, and that stores key information indicating a private key forming a pair with a public key or a seed value for generating the private key, and a processing unit (110) that, on the basis of object data to be recorded in a P2P database acquired from the external device by communication at the communication unit, and the private key corresponding to the key information, performs control to generate signature data corresponding to the object data, and transmits data including the generated signature data to the external device by communication at the communication unit.

FINANCIAL CARD WITH DYNAMIC VIEWING ANGLES TO BLOCK CARD INFORMATION

A method and system of making a secure financial card with dynamic viewing angles is provided. The secure financial card includes a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. The financial card includes at least a first portion of indicia and a second portion of the indicia indicative of the card information. The first portion of the indicia and the second portion of the indicia are configured with respective viewing angles and printed on one of the first surface and the second surface. The financial card includes a slide device moveable to different positions associated with different portions of indicia. The slide device allows the respective portion of the indicia to be viewable from different viewing angles. An account number of the financial card is read by rotating the financial card and full card information is unable to be captured by an image of the financial card.

TAP TO COPY DATA TO CLIPBOARD VIA NFC

Various embodiments are generally directed to copying data to a clipboard of a mobile device from a contactless card using NFC. A mobile device may issue a request to read data from the contactless card. The contactless card may generate encrypted data in response to the request. The mobile device may receive the encrypted data via NFC and transmit the encrypted data to a server for verification. The server may verify the encrypted data and transmit an indication of an account number for the contactless card to the mobile device. The mobile device may then copy the account number to a clipboard of the mobile device.
