TAP CARD TO SECURELY GENERATE CARD DATA TO COPY TO CLIPBOARD

A processor of a computing device may receive, from a contactless card, a uniform resource locator (URL) and a cryptogram. An operating system (OS) executing on the processor may open an application based on the URL. The application may transmit the cryptogram to an authentication server. The application may receive, based on the server verifying the cryptogram, an account number. The application may store the account number in a memory of the device.

SELF-AUTHENTICATING CHIPS

A self-authenticating chip includes first and second memory regions storing, respectively, first and second authentication codes. The second memory region is adapted to be unreadable and unmodifiable by the chip or a chip reader. The chip also includes a comparator for providing an indicator of whether given input matches the second authentication code. The chip also includes an authentication circuit that is operable to read the first authentication code from the first memory region, present the first authentication code to the comparator, and in response to receiving an indicator from the comparator indicating that the first and second authentication codes match, unlock at least one of (i) a communication interface of the chip to allow data to be transmitted therethrough to a chip reader and (ii) a third memory region of the chip to allow data to be read therefrom.

Methods For Placing An EMV Chip Onto A Metal Card

Aspects described herein may allow for a payment card having a first surface and an opposed second surface. A plurality of surface irregularities is formed on the first surface, with the plurality of surface irregularities defining alphanumeric characters. A phosphorescent coating is formed on at least a portion of the surface irregularities.

Detecting a skimmer via a vibration sensor

Disclosed herein are system, method, and apparatus for detecting a skimmer via a vibration sensor on a transaction card. The method includes receiving, at a server, from a user equipment, vibration information recorded by a transaction card in response to an execution of a transaction at a point-of-service (POS) terminal of a plurality of POS terminals using the transaction card. The vibration information may be recorded by a microphone or an accelerometer on the transaction card while the transaction card is swiped through the POS terminal or inserted into or removed from the POS terminal. The method includes determining, at the server, a state of the POS terminal based on the received vibration information and in response to a determination of the state of the POS being compromised, sending to one or more stakeholders of the transaction a warning message containing the POS terminal information including the POS terminal's state.

FINGERPRINT-BASED CREDENTIAL ENTRY

In some implementations, a physical medium for fingerprint-based PIN entry may include a fingerprint scanner, one or more memories that store fingerprint data and a PIN, and one or more processors. The physical medium may receive power from a terminal that is in communication with the physical medium. The physical medium may scan a fingerprint using the fingerprint scanner and the power received from the terminal. The physical medium may compare scanned fingerprint data, determined based on scanning the fingerprint, and the stored fingerprint data using the power received from the terminal. The physical medium may determine that the scanned fingerprint data sufficiently matches the stored fingerprint data based on comparing the scanned fingerprint data and the stored fingerprint data. The physical medium may transmit the PIN to the terminal based on determining that the scanned fingerprint data sufficiently matches the stored fingerprint data.

A smart card with secure and efficient image capture and analysis is provided. The card may include a non-transitory memory embedded in the housing storing computer-executable instructions. The instructions, when run on the microprocessor, are configured to capture, via the camera, an image of a building (or other suitable image), process the image via an image processing module, determine, based at least in part on the processing of the image, a payment amount and a payment recipient associated with the building. The smart card may also display payment information on the display screen. The payment information may include the payment amount and/or the payment recipient. When authorization is received via a tactile sensor, the card may execute a payment or other communication, over a payment gateway from an account associated with a user of the platform to an account associated with the payment recipient.

GENERATING A SENSORY INDICATION
20220383293 · 2022-12-01 · ·

A system and method is provided for generating a sensory indication on a transaction card, whereby a user is rewarded with a visual, audial, haptic, or olfactory experience. The method comprises executing a purchase transaction on the card, the transaction relating to an event, charging a power source on the card, receiving an input signal by the card, the signal indicating an output indication relevant to the event, and generating an output signal using power from the power source, based on the input signal. The card comprises a security component enabling a purchase relating to an event, a power source receiving charging energy at the time of the purchase, an input component receiving an input signal comprising information specifying a desired indication relevant to the event, an output component for generating the desired indication, one or more memories storing instructions and one or more processors executing the instructions to perform the method.

Systems and Methods for Use in Approving Transactions, Based on Biometric Data

Systems and methods are provided for use in processing transactions based on biometric data used in connection with authenticating consumers to payment accounts to which the transactions are directed. One exemplary method includes causing a biometric associated with a consumer to be received, when the consumer presents a payment device for funding a transaction with a merchant via a payment account associated with the payment device. The method also includes appending, by a computing device, a biometric score to an authorization request associated with the transaction at the merchant where the biometric score is indicative of a degree of match between the received biometric and a reference biometric, and transmitting, by the computing device, the authorization request whereby an issuer associated with the payment account is able to utilize the biometric score in determining to approve or decline the transaction.

A method creates a banking card that may be a wireless banking card. The banking card has an antenna with an open circuit that prevents the banking card from functioning correctly until it is received by a banking customer the card is to belong to. A cavity is formed within the banking card near the open circuit and a thin wall is created between the cavity and the open circuit. The cavity is filled with a flowable electrical conductor that may be a liquid metal such as mercury or galinstan. Instruction indications are provided on the banking card indicating to a banking customer how to manipulate the banking card to cause the liquid conductor to flow and remove the open circuit and allow the banking card to function correctly.
