CACHE CODE FOR AN ELECTRONIC PAYMENT TERMINAL AND CORRESPONDING ELECTRONIC PAYMENT TERMINAL
A removable cache code intended to be assembled to an electronic payment terminal in a reversible manner, thanks to first and second reversible attachment means located on the outer face of at least one of the lateral walls of the cache code.
Enabling card and method and system using the enabling card in a POS
The invention relates to an enabling card as well as a system and method for completing a financial transaction in a P.O.S. terminal comprising: a processor carried by the enabling card for: establishing a connection with a mobile device; receiving secure information from a mobile device and generating a digital signal; a coil carried by the enabling card for generating a magnetic field in response to the digital signal to simulate the swipe of card in the P.O.S. terminal and complete the financial transaction.
Methods, systems and computer program products for identity authentication for payment card based payment transactions
The invention provides methods, systems and computer program products for identity authentication for payment card based payment transactions. A payment card may be configured for payor identity authentication for the purpose of an electronic payment transaction(s), and may comprise (i) sensors to measure card handling parameters, (ii) an authentication signature generator, configured to generate and store a biometric identity signature associated with an authorized cardholder—which signature is based on a first set of card handling parameter data received from the sensors, (iii) a card handling data comparator configured to receive a second set of card handling parameter data from the sensors, retrieve the biometric identity signature associated with the authorized cardholder, and compare the second set of card handling parameter data with data extracted from the retrieved biometric identity signature, and (iv) an authentication decision generator configured to generate an identity authentication decision based on the comparison.
Method For Protecting A Payment Terminal
The present invention relates to a method for protecting a payment terminal, comprising: —a data encryption key; —a monitoring module comprising a means for measuring a physical parameter; —a counter unit of a microcontroller, the counter unit being slaved to a clock for incrementing a counter value; said method comprising the steps of: —measuring a physical parameter by the means for measuring the monitoring device; comparing the measured value with a predetermined threshold value corresponding to a physical attack; —resetting the counter unit; and if one of the following conditions is met: ○at least one physical parameter value is indicative of a physical attack on said terminal; ○the counter value is greater than a predefined threshold value; the method also comprises a step of removing access to the encryption key.
Secure data parser method and system
The present invention provides a method and system for securing sensitive data from unauthorized access or use. The method and system of the present invention is useful in a wide variety of settings, including commercial settings generally available to the public which may be extremely large or small with respect to the number of users. The method and system of the present invention is also useful in a more private setting, such as with a corporation or governmental agency, as well as between corporation, governmental agencies or any other entity.
Trusted terminal platform
A point-of-sale (POS) terminal is provided for entering a PIN to enable a financial transaction. The point-of-sale terminal has a card reader for reading information from a credit card, a processor for running an operating system, with applications, a touch screen for displaying information and receiving user inputs, and a Security-Box connected between the touch screen and the processor to control the user input on the touch screen to the processor. The Security Box is configured to run in a “PIN Entry Mode” and a “Clear Text Mode.” When running in “PIN Entry Mode” the user input is not forwarded as touch coordinates to the processor and when running in “Clear Text Mode” the touch coordinates are transmitted to the processors.
DEVICE SECURITY WITH PHYSICALLY UNCLONABLE FUNCTIONS
An electronic device may include a printed circuit board having a physically unclonable function (PUF) source. The electronic device may also include processing circuitry positioned on the printed circuit board. The PUF source includes a plurality of traces and each trace includes a first portion and a second portion having an increased surface area relative to the first portion. The PUF source is responsive to an input from the processing circuitry to provide PUF data based on the impedance characteristics of the plurality of traces. The processing circuitry is further configured to process the PUF data from the PUF source to perform an operation within the device.
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO PROTECT PRIVACY OF PERSONAL-IDENTIFICATION-NUMBER ENTRY ON CONSUMER MOBILE DEVICE AND COMPUTING APPARATUS
A system for accepting the input of a PIN comprises a first device receiving a randomized PIN layout derived on a fourth device. The randomized PIN layout is displayed on a display of the first device. A second device comprises an input for accepting a series of key presses to produce a PIN token. The PIN token indicating each of the series of key presses. A third device is in communication with the second device. The third device derives the randomized PIN layout and receives the PIN token from the second device without the PIN token being present on the first device. The third device combines the PIN layout and the PIN token to produce a PIN. The PIN is used to authenticate a transaction. The fourth and third devices each store a shared secret used to independently derive the randomized PIN layout on the fourth and third devices.
