Device for Supporting the Spine of a User and Improving Posture
A device (10) for improving posture and for supporting the spine of a user. The device (10) comprising a main spine bar (1) arranged to be secured to the back of the user at the location of the spine by a strap arrangement. The strap arrangement comprising a waist strap belt (2) connected to a proximal lower end of the spine bar (10) and comprising a first and a second member configured to wrap around the waist of the user and connect by first connecting means. The strap arrangement further comprising shoulder and torso straps (3) connected at proximal upper end of the spine bar (1) and configured to wrap around the shoulders and torso of the user and connect together by second connecting means, so that when the shoulder and torso straps (3) have connected at a predetermined location the shoulders of the user are uniformly pulled backwards thereby causing the spine of the user to assume an S-shape posture form.
THORACIC LUMBAR SACRAL ORTHOSIS ATTACHMENT
A thoracic lumbar sacral orthosis attachment for configuring an orthopedic device as a thoracic lumbar sacral orthosis by connecting the attachment to the orthopedic device. The attachment has an anterior aspect including an anterior panel arranged to connect to an orthopedic device. An anterior thoracic extension (ATE) is securable to the anterior panel, and a support bar extends from the ATE. A strap system includes an axillary strap system and/or a shoulder strap system removably securing onto a surface of the orthopedic device, and/or the ATE.
Wearable Tension Apparatus
Exemplary embodiments contained herein include garments having biomechanical components including neurobands, posture mounts, expansion panels, and combinations thereof.
Orthotic device and method of making an orthotic device
An orthotic device (10) that may be particularly effective in the treatment of scoliosis comprises a torso section (20) and a resilient reinforcement (40) attached to the torso section. The reinforcement extends diagonally across a front and/or a rear portion of the torso section between a first attachment point (51) at a first side of the torso section and a second attachment point (52) at a second side of the torso section. At least one of the first attachment point and the second attachment point is locally indented into the torso section such that the reinforcement is stretched when device is donned a patient, thereby applying a force to the patient's torso.
Kinematic bra for posture recovery and thoracic mobility
A therapeutic posture correcting and chest expanding bra invention for improving posture and thoracic mobility, including a method of manufacture thereof in the posture recovery, chest expansion, shoulder and spine muscle rehabilitation, occupation risk prevention, anti-aging posture training and athletic enhancement space. A bra that is uniquely designed, manufactured and fabric woven to improve scapular kinematics and spinal biomechanics, and overall proprioceptive posture rebalance, correction and comfort that allows for breathability, functionality, range of motion, and a fashionable nature. The kinematic bra is uniquely designed and narrows the distance between the scapulae with proprioceptive shoulder muscle relaxation and spinal muscle activation, and, secondarily, allows for chest expansion to provide better breathing and overall improvement of women's health and wellness.
Garment
A garment is provided for selective attachment of support straps. The straps may be integrated into the garment or may separate therefrom. The straps may be used for support of the wearer. The straps may be used to customize and/or fit the garment to the wearer.
MOMENT ARM EXTENSION SYSTEM FOR EXOSUIT
A moment arm extension system and method for improving the mechanical advantage of a wearable assistance device by increasing the moment arm of a force-bearing member relative to an underlying body segment of a user are disclosed. The moment arm extension system achieves this by shifting the force-bearing member to lie farther away from the body segment of the user.
WEARABLE ASSISTANCE DEVICES AND METHODS OF OPERATION
Wearable assistance devices and methods of operating and using the same are provided. A wearable assistance device includes a first body interface and a second body interface. The assistance device also includes one or more elastic members operatively coupling the first body interface to the second body interface and extending along a body segment (e.g., back, elbow, knee, etc.) of the user so as to provide an assistive force to or assistive torque about the body segment or another body segment. The assistance device further includes a clutch mechanism operatively connected to at least one of the one or more elastic members, the clutch mechanism configured to selectively adjust the assistive force or assistive torque provided by the one or more elastic members to/about the body segment or the another body segment.
Orthopedic device for scapulothoracic stabilization
An orthopedic device is arranged for scapulothoracic stabilization, inclusive of features for biomechanical stabilization of the shoulder, scapula and spine, treated alone or in combination with assembly features for supporting an arm or shoulder. The orthopedic device may be arranged in a garment or shoulder harness such that either may include first and second strap systems for extending over first and second shoulders of a user, respectively, and each of the first and second strap systems forms a “
Core training suit for scoliosis
A core muscle strengthening suit for scoliosis is described. The suit uses pieces of material constructed and assembled to transfer force generated by the wearer while walking to rotate the wearer's trunk in the direction of an existing axial twist to exercise and strengthen countervailing muscles in an attempt to maintain a normal gait. The resulting stronger rotational muscles persist in pulling the wearer's spine into alignment when the suit is removed.
