The secondary controller may effectuate transfers of credits between the primary and secondary credit balances.

Gaming system having multiple gaming machines which provide bonus awards

A gaming system including a central server linked to a plurality of gaming machines and a plurality of bonus awards. The central server monitors wagers on the gaming machines. Based at least in part on the wagers the central server determines when bonus events will occur and which gaming machine(s) will provide the bonus awards. In one embodiment, the central server determines which gaming machine will provide a primary bonus award and any secondary bonus awards. In one embodiment, the number of secondary bonus awards is determined based on the number of active gaming machines. The selected gaming machine then determines a component of or the amount of the bonus award to be provided to the gaming machine selected by the central server.

Systems and methods provide a comp policy associated with a game of chance. A gaming device includes a processor programmed to provide the game of chance to a player. A first computing device is configured to implement the comp policy that includes at least one comp available to the player and at least one comp eligibility criterion for determining whether the player is eligible for the at least one comp. The player accrues progress towards meeting the at least one comp eligibility criterion at an accrual rate. A second computing device is coupled to the first computing device. The second computing device is configured to transmit data to said first computing device to adjust the accrual progress.

Tracking playing cards during game play using RFID tags

A system having a radio-frequency-identification (RFID) tag reader and a camera to map playing cards to RFID tag values. Each card is inserted into a sleeve that has an RFID tag. During or after insertion of a card into a sleeve, the camera captures an image of the card and the RFID reader captures an RFID tag value for the sleeve. The identity of the card is then determined from the captured image and mapped to the RFID tag value. This mapping information is generated for each card-sleeve pair in a card deck and utilized to track the movement of the cards during game play. The RFID tag value of each card-sleeve pair in the card deck is captured before and after a player draws a card from the deck. The missing RFID tag values are compared to the mapping information to identify which cards where drawn by the player.

An image can be captured from an imaging device. A gaming chip tube can be identified in a gaming chip tray. A first position can be determined that corresponds to a bottom of the gaming chip tube. A spacer can be identified by recognizing a predefined pattern on the spacer. A second position can be determined corresponding to the spacer. A count of gaming chips can be determined based at least in part on the first and second positions.

System and method for secondary engagement with table games

A system includes a smart table for providing a wagering game to one or more players. The smart table includes a table management device operable by a dealer, and the smart table defines a plurality of player positions. The system also includes a processor configured to open a wagering window. The wagering window defines a period of time during which at least one primary player is enabled to place a primary wager and during which at least one secondary player is enabled to place a secondary wager. The instructions also cause the processor to close the wagering window in response to expiration of the period of time, and resolve the primary wager for the primary player and the secondary wager for the secondary player in response to closing the wagering window and based upon an outcome of the wagering game.

The computing device is configured to receive the gameplay data from the gaming device, determine whether the player is eligible for the comp based on the gameplay data, and transmit data representative of whether the player is determined to be eligible for the comp to the gaming device.
