LUMBAR SUPPORT BELT
A lumbar support belt includes a back belt, a first waist belt, a second waist belt, and a tightening mechanism. The first waist belt and the second waist belt are connected to two ends of the back belt, respectively, to wrap around the waist and the abdomen of a user. The back belt is a plastic support board. The first waist belt includes a first front part and the second waist belt includes a second front part. The first front part and the second front part are attached to each other to form a compression belt abutting against the abdomen of the user. The first waist belt includes a first back part and the second waist belt includes a second back part. The first back part and the second back part are disposed at a distance from the support board.
Cervical brace
Provided is a cervical brace. The cervical brace according to the present invention may include an upper support that supports and covers a jaw of a wearer, a lower support supported by being pressed against shoulders around the neck of the wearer, a rear support that is positioned behind the upper support and the lower support and supports the rear of the wearer's neck, and a height adjuster including a body installed at one side surface of the upper support, a connecting member formed to extend from one surface of the lower support toward the body, and a rotating member that is installed at one side of the body such that the connecting member penetrates and rotates about the connecting member in both directions, wherein the body of the height adjuster moves upward and downward along the connecting member according to a rotating direction of the rotating member and thus the upper support moves upward and downward with respect to the lower support.
Wearable apparatuses, methods, and systems for diagnosis, analysis, therapy and other uses
A wearable neck brace uses, for example, only three actuators but provides natural motion of the head and neck. This is achieved despite the fact that the head has six degrees of freedom including 3 translation and 3 rotation. In embodiments, a wearable neck brace actively controls the head of the wearer responsively to commands from a user interface such as an eye tracking input device. In further embodiments, a force-field is generated by actuators to provide assistance and/or training for weak muscles. Spring compensation may be provided for a passive support with flexibility. Encoders may be provided to generate treatment logs to support analysis of a patient's condition or progress or to provide therapy-facilitating (or athletic training-facilitating) feedback to the user.
Lower extremity garment and method of use for elderly and the like
According to some embodiments, a lower extremity garment is provided that includes: a flexible sock portion configured to surround at least a user's foot and ankle including the user's toes, the flexible sock portion having a substantially L-shape with a base portion for receiving a user's foot and a leg portion extending transverse from the base portion for receiving a user's lower leg; a semi-rigid support member integrated with the sock in the leg portion and configured to surround only a rear portion of the user's leg when worn including from the user's heel up to a position above the user's ankle, while remaining open and not extending around a forward side of the leg portion; a semi-rigid foot pad portion integrated with the sock in the foot portion and configured to support a bottom of a user's foot when worn; and at least one strap member configured to surround the leg portion when worn, wherein the at least one strap member includes at least one adjustable strap member.
Orthopedic device
An orthopedic device, first and second struts, and a range-of-motion limiting pivot assembly connecting to the first and second struts. The pivoting assembly having an engagement member linked to a tab disposed and arranged for pulling radially outward away from a central axis of the pivoting assembly for adjusting the range of motion of the pivoting assembly.
EXTERNAL FIXATION DEVICE
The present application discloses embodiments related to an external bone fixation device configured to correct bone deformities or repair bone injuries. The device comprises of at least two expandable fixator rings which are arranged at a distance to each other and plurality of adjustable length struts connecting the two expandable fixator rings configured to be adjustable to change the position and orientation of the expandable fixator rings.
Method and apparatus for securing a patient's limb
A limb support apparatus and corresponding methods for making same are disclosed. The limb support can comprise a shell for supporting a patient's limb during treatment, examination, and/or recovery. The shell can comprise at least one padding configured to protect the patient's limb. The padding can be secured to the shell using one or more mounting structures included in the padding. The mounting structures are configured such that they are received by corresponding mounting openings and/or features in the shell. An interference fit between the mounting structures and mounting openings/features secures the padding against the shell, thereby preventing the padding from inadvertently moving or sliding on the shell. Embodiments disclosed herein eliminate the need for traditionally used fasteners that are often difficult to clean and sterilize, thereby improving the quality of patient care and facilitating cleaning of patient and/or operating rooms.
Orthopedic device
An orthopedic device comprises a main body defining an outer surface and a cuff extending from an end portion of the main body with frictional material disposed on an inner surface of the first cuff. A hinge is connected to the main body and terminates along the main body short of the cuff. The cuff is arranged to fold over the outer surface of the main body in a disengaged configuration, such that the outer surface of the first cuff is adjacently against the outer surface of the main body.
Spinal immobilization device, system, and method of use
A spinal immobilization device including a base member and a spinal support member configured to overlay the base member. The base member includes an elongate board having a curvate top surface, and a channel defined within the top surface. The spinal support member may include a bladder, a fluid housed within the bladder, a plurality of fluid absorbing members within the bladder, and a breakable barrier separating the fluid and the plurality of fluid absorbing members from mixing. The channel defines an impression within the top surface that matches a shape of a portion of the bladder.
