STORE APPARATUS, STORE SYSTEM, CHECKOUT METHOD, AND PROGRAM
20220050979 · 2022-02-17 · ·

A store apparatus (10) includes a reading result registration unit (110) that registers a tag reading result including tag recording information acquired by reading a tag provided to an individual product by a reading apparatus of a gate and radio wave intensity received from the tag, in association with person determination information about a person who passes through the gate, a purchase product confirmation unit (120) that confirms a purchase product, based on the tag reading result for each person, and a checkout unit (130) that performs checkout processing of the purchase product confirmed by the purchase product confirmation unit (120). When tag recording information related to a same tag is included in both of a first tag reading result related to a first person and a second tag reading result related to a second person who passes through the gate after the first person, the reading result registration unit (110) confirms the first tag reading result, based on magnitude of intensity of a radio wave received from the same tag.

SETTLEMENT DEVICE

A settlement device according to an embodiment includes a first reading unit configured to read a symbol attached to a commodity located in a first reading region, one or a plurality of second reading units configured to read a symbol attached to a commodity located in a second reading region entirely or partially overlapping the first reading region, and a light emitting unit for causing a customer to recognize a position of the first reading unit.

IDENTIFICATION AND IMAGING OF TERMINAL-PROXIMATE EVENT OCCURENCES
20170251183 · 2017-08-31 ·

Various embodiments herein each include at least one of systems, methods, and software for identification and imaging of terminal-proximate event occurrences. One such embodiment is in the form of a method that includes detecting an event occurrence and selecting at least one digital image captured with regard to a location of the detected event. This method further includes providing each of the at least one selected digital images to at least one location.

REGISTER SYSTEM CAPABLE OF DISABLING SECURITY TAGS
20170249616 · 2017-08-31 ·

A register system includes a first code scanner that includes a circuit configured to disable a security tag, a second code scanner that does not include the circuit, a data storage in which a product code is stored in association with a flag, for each product registered for sale, and a processor. The processor is configured to carry out purchase registration of a product based on a product code obtained through the second code scanner or cause a notification to be generated without carrying out the purchase registration of the product based on the product code obtained through the second code scanner, depending on a state of a flag associated with the obtained product code in the data storage.

METHODS AND ARRANGEMENTS FOR IDENTIFYING OBJECTS

In some arrangements, product packaging is digitally watermarked over most of its extent to facilitate high-throughput item identification at retail checkouts. Imagery captured by conventional or plenoptic cameras can be processed (e.g., by GPUs) to derive several different perspective-transformed views—further minimizing the need to manually reposition items for identification. Crinkles and other deformations in product packaging can be optically sensed, allowing such surfaces to be virtually flattened to aid identification. Piles of items can be 3D-modelled and virtually segmented into geometric primitives to aid identification, and to discover locations of obscured items. Other data (e.g., including data from sensors in aisles, shelves and carts, and gaze tracking for clues about visual saliency) can be used in assessing identification hypotheses about an item. Logos may be identified and used—or ignored—in product identification. A great variety of other features and arrangements are also detailed.

Automatic cash register system with motion sequence control
09747759 · 2017-08-29 · ·

The invention relates to a cash register system (10) comprising a scanner (12, 14) for scanning articles and a deposit unit (18) for depositing the scanned articles. Further, the cash register system (10) comprises a sensor unit (22, 30) for detecting a sequence of motions of the user of the cash register system (10). A control unit selects one of several preset cash register functions dependent on the sequence of motions detected by means of the sensor unit (20, 30) and controls the cash register system (10) accordingly.

System and method for anti-shoplifting in self-checkout

A method and a system for self-checkout. The system includes a scanner, an imaging device, and a computing device. The computing device is configured to: initiate a self-checkout event; instruct the imaging device to capture video frames of a region of interest (ROI); track the product; record scanning status and location status of the product; in response to receive a scanning signal from the scanner, record scanning status of the product as scanned; calculate a shoplifting risk score based on a number of the product having the scanning status of unscanned and disappears from the table region or ROI; and provide a shoplifting warning when the shoplifting score is large.

Detecting and preventing receipt printer jams

Disclosed are systems and methods for detecting a printer jam. The systems and methods can include receiving a reference image of a printer opening and a second image of the printer opening. A lack of a receipt between the second image compared to the reference image can be detected. The lack of the receipt can indicate the printer jam. After detecting the printer jam, operation of the self-service terminal can be terminated.

An information processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes a memory unit which stores information corresponding to at least a first predetermined position, and a display. A transmitter periodically transmits a signal indicating a position movement of the transmitter at predetermined intervals. A controller determines whether the transmitter is substantially paused at the first predetermined position based on the current position and acceleration indicated in the periodically transmitted signals. The controller controls the display to display a predetermined first screen when the transmitter is determined to be substantially paused at the first predetermined position.
