Vehicle message addressing
A vehicle messaging method (600) and system (100) can include any number of data sources (101-103), an interface (104) that formats messages and addresses from the data sources, and a corresponding number of messaging servers (111-113) that receive targeted messages intended for a predetermined subset of subscribers associated with a vehicle identification number (VIN). Each messaging server can include a corresponding controller (121-123) programmed to assign (604) targeted messages to a predetermined channel and encode (606) the addresses of the targeted messages to the predetermined subset of subscribers using a VIN or portion thereof. The controller can be further programmed to transfer (608) the targeted messages and addresses to a satellite uplink (107) and satellite (110) via a messaging uplink interface (106) for retransmission and reception by a plurality of selective call receivers 109 addressable individually using a predetermined VIN or portion thereof.
ALERTS PROVIDED BASED ON RESPONDER PROFILE
The present disclosure is related to devices, systems, and methods for alerts provided based on responder profile. An example device can include instructions to receive an alert message via an operations management server, access a plurality of alert responder profiles in storage, each associated with a respective alert responder and determined based on historical actions of the respective alert responder, and communicate the alert message to an alert responder having an alert responder profile that exceeds a threshold correlation with the alert message.
Fiber optic connector with field installable outer connector housing
An optical connector includes a first sub-assembly that is factory-installed to a first end of an optical fiber and a second sub-assembly that is field-installed to the first end of the optical fiber. The optical fiber and first sub-assembly can be routed through a structure (e.g., a building) prior to installation of the second sub-assembly. The second sub-assembly interlocks with the first sub-assembly to inhibit relative axial movement therebetween. Example first sub-assemblies include a ferrule, a hub, and a strain-relief sleeve that mount to an optical fiber. Example second sub-assemblies include a mounting block; and an outer connector housing forming a plug portion.
HOME SECURITY RESPONSE USING BIOMETRIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL OBSERVATIONS
Various arrangements for handling a potential security situation using a home automation system are presented. During a defined active monitoring time period, a biometric measurement of a user may be received. The biometric measurement of the user may exceed a defined threshold value for the biometric measurement. A security alert from a home automation device in wireless communication with the home automation host system may be received. If the time period between the biometric measurement is within a threshold time period of the security alert being received a security response action may be performed.
Responding to a status for a user based on nearby electronic devices
A method for determining a status of a user of an electronic device. The method includes a computer processor determining information associated with a first user of an electronic device. The method further includes identifying a plurality of electronic devices that are within a range of wireless communications to the electronic device. The method further includes defining an area monitored by the electronic device. The method further includes monitoring a group of the identified plurality of electronic devices that are within the defined area. The method further includes calculating a first safe-threshold value for the electronic device based on information associated with a first user of an electronic device and monitored information from the group of the identified plurality of electronic devices. The method further includes determining a status for the first user based, at least in part, on the calculated first safe-threshold value for the electronic device.
Illuminated Signal Device and Speed Detector for Audio/Video Recording and Communication Devices
Illuminated signal devices and speed detectors for audio/video (A/V) recording and communication devices in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure are provided. In one embodiment, an illuminated signal device for providing a warning message of a passing vehicle is provided, the device comprising a speed detecting module, a communication module, and a processing module operatively connected to the speed detecting module and the communication module, the processing module comprising a processor, and a speed detecting application, wherein the speed detecting application configures the processor to detect motion of the passing vehicle using the speed detecting module, obtain speed data of the passing vehicle using the speed detecting module, and transmit the obtained speed data to a backend server, using the communication module, for providing the warning message of the passing vehicle to at least one social network.
Illuminated Signal Device and Speed Detector for Audio/Video Recording and Communication Devices
Illuminated signal devices and speed detectors for audio/video (A/V) recording and communication devices in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure are provided. In one embodiment, an illuminated signal device configured for capturing image data is provided, the device comprising a camera having a field of view, a communication module, and a processing module operatively connected to the camera and the communication module, the processing module comprising a processor, and a signal device application, wherein the signal device application configures the processor to detect motion within the field of view of the camera, capture image data in response to the detected motion using the camera, and transmit the image data to a backend server using the communication module.
Battery efficient wireless network connection and registration for a low-power device
A client device is configured to communicate with an access point over a wireless network, exchanging data with the access point over a selected communication channel. After the wireless connection to the access point has ended, the client device receives a probe from the access point over a low-level layer, such as a data link layer. In response to receiving the probe, the client device reconnects to the access point.
System and method for processing bank transactions
A system for processing bank transactions and a method for operating the system are disclosed. The system can include a plurality of article exchanging units. Each of said plurality of article exchanging units can be configured to receive items from a bank customer and present items to the bank customer. The system can also include a communications controller configured to communicate according to the internet protocol with said plurality of article exchanging units.
HOME OCCUPANCY INFORMATION SYSTEM
A home occupancy status and information system may be used to track information about human and animal occupants within a structure and provide information to first responders in the event of an emergency. A rescue beacon may be positioned near an entrance to a home, and when an audible alarm or alarm signal is detected by the beacon it will provide visual alerts and/or audible alerts to attract the attention of a first responder, and will provide information on occupants in the home, such as a number of pets, a number of humans, and other information. A rescue device may also be carried by each pet or other occupant in the house, which may be activated by a wireless signal from a rescue beacon, or by a detected alarm audio/signal. When activated, the rescue device will provide audible and/or visual alerts to aid first responders in locating the occupant.
