SAFETY SWITCH AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A cable pull switch includes a polychotomous sensor configured to provide a reading of at least one of a plurality of values, the reading corresponding to a tension on a pull cable or a linear displacement of an end of a pull cable. A processing device is configured to receive the reading, determine whether a value of the reading is outside of a non-tripped value window, a limit edge being a pull threshold value, and responsively generate an output signal indicative of a cable pull event. Other features and improvements are described.
Barrier assembly
There is disclosed herein a barrier assembly (1) adapted to inhibit access to an area. The assembly including at least two markers (2) operatively associated with each other to define an area where access is to be inhibited. Means to connect said markers and monitoring means adapted in use to determine if access to said area has been breached.
Room occupancy sensing apparatus and method
A building comprising a plurality of rooms (10) includes a room occupancy sensing apparatus. A light source (20) emits a series of light pulses (22), a plurality of waveguides deliver light from the light source to output nodes (60) located in the rooms, and a signal capture unit (30) receives output signals resulting from light reflected by objects in the rooms. The apparatus detects movement, of for example a person (40), in a room and ascertains the room concerned by virtue of (i) detecting a difference between the shape of the waveform of the signal (24 i) received at the signal capture unit (30) in response to a first emitted light pulse and the shape of the waveform of the signal (24m) received at the signal capture unit in response to a second emitted light pulse and (ii) relating said reflected light pulses to the appropriate output node and therefore to the room (10) associated with that output node (60).
INTRUSION SENSING APPARATUS FOR SECURITY FENCE
The present invention provides an intrusion sensing apparatus for a security fence, the apparatus detecting the distribution characteristic of a frequency component of an output signal in a charge amplifier connected to a shielding multi-core cable united with a security fence, and thereby determining whether the output signal is a signal caused by the overall vibration of and a partial impact on the security fence.
Portable security system
A portable alarm system designed for unoccupied unsecured locations, such as construction sites, machinery, campsites and the like. The alarm system defines a continuous monitoring line about the perimeter of the unsecured location using a plurality of wireless sensors attached to a flexible non-stretchable tape suspended between to vertical poles. The system has motion-sensing/detecting capabilities such that any movement of a housing where the microprocessor of the system is located generates audible/visual alarm. Each of the wireless sensors has a magnet and a transmitter positionable within a predetermined distance from the magnet. If the intruder tampers with the tape and increases the distance between the magnet the transmitter, the alarm is activated as well.
BOUNDARY CONTROL DEVICE, BOUNDARY CONTROL SYSTEM, AND METHOD OF CONDITIONING THE BEHAVIOR OF ANIMALS
A boundary control device, a boundary control system, and a method of conditioning the behavior of animals are provided. The boundary control device includes a base member configured to be positioned adjacent a boundary, a sound emitter coupled to the base member and configured to emit a sound upon activation, a light emitter coupled to the base member and configured to emit a light upon activation, and a boundary sensor coupled to the base member and configured to sense an object disposed adjacent the boundary. The sound emitter and the light emitter are activated upon sensing of the object by the boundary sensor.
BREAKAWAY COUPLING DEVICE WITH NOTIFICATION DEVICE
A security system, comprising a breakaway coupling device, comprising a coupler component including a key, wherein the coupler component forms a first opening that facilitates a first attachment region, and wherein the key extends out of a first side of the coupler component, and a base component with a first end and a second end opposite the first end, wherein the first end is formed with a cavity opening into a cavity of the base component, and wherein the second end forms a second opening that facilitates a second attachment region, and at least one notification device in communication with the breakaway coupling device.
INTRUSION DETECTORS, AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
In at least one embodiment, a fence disturbance sensor is disclosed wherein a sensor cable having a signal processor on each end of the cable correlates the response data as seen from both ends of the cable to detect and locate intruders attempting to breach the fence. The processors at each end of the cable time multiplex the transmission of a phase coherent coded pulse sequence along the coaxial line creating both co-directional and contra-directional signals to propagate along the shielded moving-wire transmission line. When the cable is disturbed, the impedance of the shielded moving-wire transmission line, causing a change in the coupled signals which are used to detect and locate the disturbance. Hence when the cable is disturbed time multiplexed contra-directionally coupled responses are detected in complementary range bins where the amplitude and phase of the two responses are correlated by taking the complex product of the complementary range bin responses, thereby detecting the audio signal creating a magnitude and phase response in the array of complementary range bins. Hence to create an Event, a disturbance must be detected at the same time at the same location and with the same audio. When a prescribed number of Events occur at the same location within a prescribed time window an Alarm is declared.
