Systems and methods for spatial sensing and tracking of objects in a space
11514765 · 2022-11-29 · ·

This disclosure is directed to product displays systems. In one aspect, a product display system includes three or more bases spatially distributed in a space. Each base has a wireless transceiver. The system includes a product display assembly comprising a puck assembly and a base assembly. The puck assembly has a surface on which a product is mountable for merchandising of the product to a customer and is untethered to the base assembly. The puck assembly executes machine-readable instructions that determines a coordinate location of the puck assembly within the space based on wireless communications between the puck assembly and the three or more bases. The puck assembly may also generate an alarm sound when the coordinate location is located within an alarm zone or a warning zone of the space.

SECURITY SYSTEM, METHOD OF EMITTING AN ALARM SIGNAL, BUS, USE OF A SECURITY SYSTEM

The invention relates to a security system designed to recognise, by means of the presence and/or content of a status enquiry signal of at least one security unit, whether or not at least one security unit is located inside the security zone. The security system includes an alarm generating unit which is designed to generate an alarm signal if it has been recognised that the at least one security unit is located outside the security zone. The invention further relates to a method for emitting an alarm signal, a bus with a security system and a use of a security system.

Monitoring objects capable of wireless communications

A method of monitoring objects capable of wireless communications is provided. The method comprises detecting an activity performed by a user of a wireless communications device, acquiring information identifying an expected set of objects which are associated with the detected activity, determining whether at least one of the objects in the expected set is not in proximity of the wireless communications device, and if so notifying the user that at least one of the objects in the expected set is not in proximity of the wireless communications device.

A system for detecting placement or misplacement of an object includes a wireless tag; a first electronic device (“FED”) associated with the tag to automatically detect signals from the tag, determine a position of the FED, transmit the position and status to an external electronic device or network (“EED”) in response to the status indicating that the tag and the FED are within a predetermined range, and transmit the position and status to the EED in response to the status indicating that the tag and the FED are outside of the predetermined range; and a second electronic device (“SED”) that is unassociated with the tag to automatically detect signals from the tag, determine a position of the SED, determine an identifier for the tag using the signals, and transmit the position of the SED and the identifier to the EED.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AUTHENTICATION USING RADIO FREQUENCY TAGS

Systems and methods for authentication using radio frequency tags are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for approving a requested operation from a secondary user of a resource that is controlled by a primary user may include (1) a back end comprising at least one computer processor receiving, from a mobile application that is executed by a mobile device associated with a secondary user, a requested operation involving a resource that is controlled by a primary user; (2) the back end receiving a unique identifier from the secondary user mobile application, the unique identifier being read by the mobile application from a tag associated with the secondary user; (3) the back end determining that the received unique identifier matches a stored unique identifier that is associated with the secondary user; and (4) the back end approving the requested operation and communicating the approval to the secondary user mobile application.

Power Distribution Equipment Personnel Safety System

A power distribution equipment personnel safety system includes a vicinity sensor and a power distribution equipment sensor. An outer envelope having a door or cover to an interior of the power distribution equipment is monitored by a vicinity sensor data and a processing unit determines a position of a person in the area outside of the door/cover using vicinity sensor data. When the outer envelope is disturbed where one or more doors or one or more covers are open or not correctly closed or one or more covers are removed, the processing unit determines a personnel safety state and at least one action comprising utilization of the personnel safety state.

System and method for deterring theft of package, and device therefor

A system, method, and a package tracking device for tracking the movement of a package to prevent theft of the package are described. According to an embodiment, a package tracking device adapted to be attached with a package is described. The package tracking device having a unique device identification number allows a user, through an application interface running of a wireless communication device, to associate a geographical boundary (geo-fencing) with the delivery address of the package. The package tracking device operates in a passive tracking mode when the package is within the defined geographical boundary, generates a first signal when the package is moved from a drop location, generates a second signal when the package is moved out from the geofencing associated with the delivery address and operates in active tracking mode when the package is moved out from the geofencing associated with the delivery address.

USER PRESENCE-ENABLED TRACKING DEVICE FUNCTIONALITY

A tracking system can provide configuration instructions to an electronic device based on user presence. The tracking system can determine a user’s location relative to a geographic boundary surrounding a geographic area associated with the user. Depending on the user’s location, the tracking system may send instructions to configure an electronic device to send a notification or change the operating mode of the electronic device in response to the user’s presence. The electronic device may be a scanning device that is configured to have a higher or lower scanning frequency, depending on the presence or absence of the user relative to the scanning device.
