Wireless merchandise security system
Security systems and methods for protecting retail display merchandise from theft are provided. For example, a security system includes a sensor configured to be secured to an item of merchandise, and a monitoring component configured to wirelessly communicate with the sensor, wherein the monitoring component and the sensor are configured to communicate with one another to determine a proximity of the item of merchandise relative to the monitoring component, wherein the monitoring component and/or the sensor is configured to initiate a security signal when the proximity between the monitoring component and the sensor is within a predetermined range or distance.
KEY AND SECURITY DEVICE
A key for a security device is provided. The key may include an electronic component configured to communicate with one or more security devices to initially receive one or more codes associated with each of the security devices. The key may also include a memory configured to store the one or more codes associated with the one or more security devices. The electronic component is configured to communicate with each of the one or more security devices for arming and/or disarming the security devices upon a matching of the code stored by the memory with the code associated with the security device.
Smart sensor line alarm system
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to systems and methods for monitoring a status of a plurality of a merchandise display devices for displaying items of merchandise at respective display positions. For example, the method includes monitoring for a change in a preselected characteristic of a circuit defined by an electrical connection between the security devices and a plurality of nodes and between the nodes and an alarm unit. The method also includes determining whether an item of merchandise has been added to or removed from a respective display position based on a change in the preselected characteristic.
PROGRAMMABLE SECURITY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROTECTING MERCHANDISE
A programmable security system and method for protecting an item of merchandise includes a programming station, a programmable key and a security system. The programming station generates a security code and communicates the security code to a memory of the programmable key. The programmable key initially communicates the security code to a memory of the security device and subsequently operates the security device upon a matching of the security code in the memory of the security device with the security code in the memory of the programmable key. The programmable key may also transfer power via electrical contacts or inductive transfer from an internal battery to the security device to operate a lock mechanism. The security code may be communicated by wireless infrared (IR) systems, electrical contacts or inductive transfer. A timer inactivates the programmable key and/or the security device after a predetermine period of time. A counter inactivates the programmable key after a predetermined maximum number of activations.
Anti-theft device with cable attachment
A theft detection device, for coupling to a merchandise product, includes a housing with a first end of a conductive strap attached to the housing. The housing has an opening for a second end of the conductive strap. The conductive strap secures the theft detection device to the product, and activated when the second end of the conductive strap is inserted into the opening. A light sensor, within the housing, senses the amount of light shining on the detection device. A motion sensor, within the housing, senses movement of the detection device. An emitter, within the housing, provides audio signals to a user. A microcontroller, within the housing, is coupled to the light sensor, the motion sensor, and the emitter. The emitter emits an alarm based on data from the light and motion sensors. The emitter emits an alarm when the conductive strap is cut or loosened from the product.
Tethered security system with wireless communication
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to security systems for securing an item of merchandise from theft or unauthorized removal. For example, the security system may include a sensor configured to be coupled to the item of merchandise and a base configured to removably support the sensor and the item of merchandise thereon. The base includes a charging circuit for providing power to the sensor and/or the item of merchandise. The security system also includes a controller operably coupled to the base and a key configured to wirelessly communicate with the base and/or controller. The sensor is configured to wirelessly communicate with the base.
Security device for an electrically powered device
A security device for an electrically powered device includes a remote location-tracking circuit for mounting in a power plug or power cable, a control means for mounting in the power plug or power cable with the remote location-tracking circuit, an immobilizing circuit which is a power shut-down circuit for immobilizing a tool positioned within the tool casing, wherein the power shut-down circuit includes a relay; and a power cable connected between the control means and power shut-down circuit, the power cable being adapted to supply power to the tool, and the power shut-down circuit being controlled by the control means, wherein if the remote location-tracking circuit is removed by severing the power cable, thereby disconnecting the control means from the power shut-down circuit, the power shut-down circuit is configured to automatically shut down the power supply to the tool via the relay until the control means is re-connected.
MERCHANDISE DISPLAY SECURITY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Merchandise security systems and methods are provided. In one example, a merchandise security system includes a plurality of security devices arranged in a wireless network, wherein the plurality of security devices are arranged in a planogram and each configured to protect one or more items from theft, each of the plurality of security devices configured to wirelessly communicate data with a remote device. The system also includes a plurality of electronic keys arranged in the wireless network and configured to wirelessly communicate data with the plurality of security devices and/or the remote device. Each of the plurality of electronic keys is configured to operate the plurality of security devices. The system also includes a gateway configured to receive the data from the plurality of security devices and electronic keys via wireless communication, wherein the gateway is configured to communicate the data to the remote computing device.
Timestamp-based security device registration
A method of registering a security sensor device with a product device to be protected via the security sensor device includes obtaining sensor data identifying the security sensor device and including a sensor timestamp for an alteration in power delivery to the security sensor device, obtaining product data identifying the product device and including a product timestamp for an alteration in power delivery to the product device, implementing a comparison of the sensor timestamp and the product timestamp, and generating registration data for the security sensor device and the product device based on the comparison, the registration data associating the security sensor device and the product device.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOTELY CONTROLLING SECURITY DEVICES
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to systems and methods for displaying and securing articles of merchandise. In one example, a merchandise security system includes a plurality of security devices, wherein each of the security devices includes a sensor configured to be attached to an article of merchandise.
