An inventory management system according to an embodiment comprises: a weight measurer configured to measure a weight of a shelf on which an item can be placed; and an RF tag configured to transmit a wireless signal including information related to the weight measured by the weight measurer in response to a read request from a wireless device, wherein the RF tag includes a transceiver configured to generate power by a received electromagnetic wave or magnetic field and transmit the wireless signal to the wireless device by using the generated power, a storage configured to store therein the information related to the weight measured by the weight measurer, and a controller configured to cause the transceiver to transmit the wireless signal including the information related to the weight stored in the storage to the wireless device.

Doorbell package detection systems and methods

Delivery parcel detection systems can include a doorbell having a first wireless communication system and a parcel holding system configured for placement in an entryway. The doorbell can be communicatively coupled to the parcel holding system. The parcel holding system can comprise a sensor configured to detect a delivery parcel located on the parcel holding system. Systems can include a first communication sent from the parcel holding system to the doorbell in response to the parcel holding system detecting an arrival, a movement, or a removal of the delivery parcel. Systems can also include a second communication sent from the doorbell to a remote computing device in response to the doorbell receiving the first communication.

Doorbell communication systems and methods

The disclosure includes a doorbell having a visitor detection system that can comprise at least one of a camera, a microphone, and a motion detector. The method for using the doorbell can comprise recording, via the camera, video data that represents a video. The method can also comprise recording, via the microphone, audio data that represents audio. The method of using the doorbell can comprise transmitting at least a portion of the video data and at least a portion of the audio data, to a remote computing device that is communicatively coupled to the doorbell. The method can also comprise transmitting the video data and the audio data to a remote server that is communicatively coupled to the doorbell.

Action detection during image tracking

A system includes a sensor, a weight sensor, and a tracking subsystem. The tracking subsystem receives an image feed of top-view images generated by the sensor and weight measurements from the weight sensor. The tracking subsystem detects an event associated with an item being removed from a rack in which the weight sensor is installed. The tracking subsystem determines that a first person or a second person may be associated with the event. In response to determining that the first or second person may be associated with the event, buffer frames are stored of top-view images generated by the sensor during a time period associated with the event. The tracking subsystem then determines, using at least one of the stored buffer frames and a first action-detection algorithm, whether an action associated with the event was performed by the first person or the second person.

The tracking subsystem detects an event associated with an item being removed from a rack in which the weight sensor is installed. The tracking subsystem determines that a first person and a second person may be associated with the event. The tracking subsystem then determines, using a first approach, whether an action associated with the event was performed by the first person or the second person. If results of the first approach do not satisfy criteria, a second approach is used to assign the action to the first or second person.

Connected scale device

A monitoring system that is configured to monitor a property includes a connected scale device that is configured to receive a package, determine a weight of the package, and after determining the weight of the package, arm the connected scale device, and a monitoring control unit that is configured to receive, from the connected scale device, data indicating that the connected scale device received the package and the connected scale device is armed, and based on receiving the data indicating that the connected scale device received the package and the connected scale device is armed, communicate, to a user device of a resident of the property, a notification indicating that the connected scale device received the package.

Systems and methods for identifying potential shoplifting incidents

Embodiments relate to systems and methods for identifying potential shoplifting incidents. In one embodiment, a system can receive and analyze information related to a number of items removed from a display and a number of items added to a shopping receptacle. These numbers of items can be detected by weight or load changes sensed by a sensor system, and if the counted numbers of items do not match, the system can flag nearby shopping receptacles via their unique identification numbers as potentially involved in shoplifting incidents.
