Sensor arrangement

Disclosures relate to a sensor system and arrangements having different sized removable spacers. The spacers may be mixed and matched as needed or desired to compensate for misalignment conditions. Further, different spacer combinations and adjustments may be guided by a security management computing device. Variations in configurations of mounting surfaces, such as door and window assemblies, may be accommodated. Alignment of a transmitter or a receiving device, e.g., a magnetic device, with respect to a transmitter or receiving device despite misalignment of the components due to, for example, uneven surfaces of a door or a window, or a respective frame may be achieved.

Near-far security sensor

Described is a security sensor comprising two or more sub-sensors for use in a variety of installations where different magnetic fields may be experienced by the security sensor as a result of the variety of installations. One of the sub-sensors may have a low magnetic sensitivity while the other sub-sensor may have a much higher sensitivity to magnetic fields. In operation, one or both sub-sensors are used to determine if a door or a window has been opened.

A monitoring system for monitoring a plurality of places at separate geographical locations, the monitoring system comprising a computer device having a user interface configured to receive an identifier of a monitoring user, a processor configured to process multiple streams of sensed data, each stream of sensed data comprising sensed data for a respective one of the plurality of places and indicative of one or more sensed event in the respective place, to generate display data for display at the user interface of the computer device, wherein the displayed data comprises a respective visual representation of a set of data for each of the plurality of places and the processor configured to simultaneously render at the user interface at least two of the sets of data associated respectively with at least two of the plurality of places associated with the monitoring user.

System and method for RF tripwire based intrusion detection

Systems and methods for detecting a presence of a target such as a vehicle, an animal, a person, or another object in a monitored area without the use of sensors, are provided. Multiple RF field anomaly detection nodes may be spaced through the monitored area and connected, such as in a mesh network. The RF field anomaly detection nodes may include radio transceivers that communicate with one another and which monitor a signal strength of received signals. The nodes may compare the signal strengths to expected strength values. As a target enters a portion of the monitored area, the dielectric properties of the target cause at least one signal strength of at least one received signal to change. The RF field anomaly detection nodes may detect this change and trigger a further action or human readable alert corresponding to the presence of the target.

EAS security system incorporating time of flight sensing

An electronic article surveillance (EAS) system and method of operating the system, including one or more processors and memory. The memory contains instructions to cause the processors to receive data from a first sensor indicating the presence of an electronic surveillance tag within a first predetermined space, receive data from a second sensor including tracking information that indicates a distance of the second sensor from a person in possession of the electronic surveillance tag within a second predetermined space, determine a speed and/or direction of movement of the person based on the data from the second sensor, and detect a theft event and execute an alarm routine based on the presence of the electronic surveillance tag within the first predetermined space and the speed and/or direction of movement of the person within the second predetermined space.

A multi sensor detection and disabling lock system includes detector cases for holding interchangeable detectors that sample for chemical, biological and radiological compounds, agents and elements, with each detector case disposed in or upon the monitored product. The detector case transmits detection information to a monitoring computer terminal and transmits a signal to a lock disabler engaged to the product to lock or disable the product's lock thereby preventing untrained, unauthorized and unequipped individuals from gaining access and entry to the product, and also preventing further contamination of the area. The detection system can be interconnected to surveillance towers scanning detector cases disposed at seaport docks, freight depots and rail terminals for monitoring containers being prepared for shipment or sitting on docks for long periods of time.

Fixed property monitoring with moving asset location tracking

Techniques are described for moving asset location tracking and monitoring system technology. A system monitors for events related to a monitoring system that monitors a fixed property and the system detects an event related to the monitoring system based on the monitoring. The system performs an operation that leverages geographic location tracking of at least one mobile asset associated with the fixed property based on the detected event.

Sensor assembly for use in a security alarm system and method of installing the same

There is provided a method of installing a magnetic proximity sensor including positioning the magnetic field sensor in a desired location and positioning a magnet in a desired location relative to the magnetic field sensor, with an indicator of the sensor continuing to be turned on during the predetermined period of time when the magnetic field generated by the magnet is sensed by the magnetic field sensor, and being turned off during the predetermined period of time when the magnetic field generated by the magnet is not sensed by the magnetic field sensor. The indicator light thus assists in determining proper relative positioning of the magnet and the magnetic field sensor. If after the predetermined period of time more time is needed to install the magnetic proximity sensor, the method includes initiates another predetermined period of time by removing and replacing a lid of the magnetic proximity sensor.

Motion detection using wireless local area networks

This document describes techniques and devices to detect and classify human and animal presence and/or motion based on changes in the interaction of the human or animal with Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) radio frequency (RF) signals within or about a building structure, such as a home or office. A first WLAN device transmits a sounding packet to a second WLAN device and receives an acknowledgement (ACK) of receiving the sounding packet by the second WLAN device. The first WLAN device uses the received ACK to determine Channel State Information (CSI) for an RF signal path between the first WLAN device and the second WLAN device, aggregates the determined CSI with additional CSI, and uses the aggregated CSI to determine a presence or a motion within the structure.

In a general aspect, a motion detection channel is operated in a wireless communication network. In some aspects, a first wireless network device communicates wireless network traffic on a first subset of wireless communication channels in a wireless communication network. The first wireless network device receives motion detection signals transmitted through a space by a second wireless network device. The motion detection signals are received on a second subset of wireless communication channels. The motion detection signals are processed to detect motion of an object in the space.
