11810450 · 2023-11-07 · ·

A method for use in a lighting system for rendering emergency lighting comprises detecting (101) a switch from a normal mode of the lighting system to an emergency mode of the lighting system and a switch from the emergency mode to the normal mode and activating (103) an emergency radio frequency-based sensing function upon detecting the switch from the normal mode to the emergency mode. The radio frequency-based sensing comprises detection of disturbances to a radio frequency field. The method further comprises deactivating (105) the emergency radio frequency-based sensing function upon detecting the switch from the emergency mode to the normal mode.

Sensor Arrangement

Disclosures relate to a sensor system and arrangements having different sized removable spacers. The spacers may be mixed and matched as needed or desired to compensate for misalignment conditions. Further, different spacer combinations and adjustments may be guided by a security management computing device. Variations in configurations of mounting surfaces, such as door and window assemblies, may be accommodated. Alignment of a transmitter or a receiving device, e.g., a magnetic device, with respect to a transmitter or receiving device despite misalignment of the components due to, for example, uneven surfaces of a door or a window, or a respective frame may be achieved.

Controlling device participation in wireless sensing systems

In a general aspect, motion is detected using wireless signals. In an example, a method includes receiving, at a wireless communication device, requests for the wireless communication device to transmit wireless signals, the requests initiated by a wireless sensing system. The method further includes transmitting a series of wireless signals from the wireless communication device in response to the requests, and detecting, at the wireless communication device, a trigger event after transmitting the series of wireless signals. The method additionally includes updating, by the wireless communication device, a state of the wireless communication device based on the trigger event, the updated state indicating that the wireless communication device is not enabled to transmit wireless signals in response to the requests from the wireless sensing system. The method also includes communicating, by the wireless communication device, the updated state of the wireless communication device to the wireless sensing system.

A mobile robot is configured for operation in a commercial or industrial setting, such as an office building or retail store. The robot can patrol one or more routes within a building, and can detect violations of security policies by objects, building infrastructure and security systems, or individuals. In response to the detected violations, the robot can perform one or more security operations. The robot can include a removable fabric panel, enabling sensors within the robot body to capture signals that propagate through the fabric. In addition, the robot can scan RFID tags of objects within an area, for instance coupled to store inventory. Likewise, the robot can generate or update one or more semantic maps for use by the robot in navigating an area and for measuring compliance with security policies.

Method, digital tool, device and system for detecting movements of objects and/or living beings in a radio range, in particular of an indoor area

In order to detect movements of objects and/or living beings in a radio range, which enables easily with a minimum of hardware complexity an automated movement detection based on a Single-Sensor, it is proposed to: Collect as input data for the movement detection based on received radio signals of an intended or unintended communication between a transmitting radio terminal being mobile or fixed and a receiving local fixed radio device in the radio range a set of “Channel State Information”-values, determine a change in the received radio signals, which are derived from the facts that the movement influences the transmitted radio signal in the radio range based on the collected CSI-values by the indication of a statistical parameter value, and assess on the basis of the statistical parameter value a “chaos index” value until the “chaos index” value in accordance with a threshold check provides a reliable statement.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SUPPORTING PASSIVE INTRUSION DETECTION IN INDOOR ENVIRONMENTS

A method passively detects intrusion in an indoor environment. The method includes: establishing at least one communication channel between two millimeter (mm)-wave devices of a plurality of mm-wave devices deployed within the indoor environment, continuously monitoring communication channel parameters of the at least one communication channel, and triggering an intrusion detection process based on variations of the communication channel parameters.

Methods of defining a virtual fence and for detecting a body inside or outside a region of interest defined by the virtual fence and/or of determining a height for a body on a surface in a region of interest use radar signals and a configuration mode and a monitoring mode are disclosed. In the configuration mode coordinates for defining a virtual fence are determined and/or a topology of a surface in the region of interest is determined. In the monitoring mode, a location of a second body on the surface is detected to determine if the second body is inside or outside the virtual fence and/or a height of for the second body relative to the determined topology is determined.

PROVIDING SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL FEATURES USING HUMAN PRESENCE DETECTION

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for the detection of human presence in front of a plurality of sensors such as those of speakers and a device with a processor, such as a television. Data gathered from the plurality of sensors may be analyzed by the processor to determine if one or more humans are present proximate to the device. Based on the determined presence or absence of one or more humans, further actions including, inter alia, activating a sleep mode for the one or more humans, shutting off the device in a green mode, or alerting an owner-user to the presence of an intruder can be taken.
