SHOULDER SLING AND PILLOW SYSTEM
A shoulder sling and pillow system that will house a beverage and a cellphone. The system is designed to ergonomically fit around the waist of a user and the system will also allow a cellphone to be charged. The system will use removable straps that will attach to the foam pillow and to the brace of the shoulder sling and pillow system.
Orthosis with at least one textile bandage
An orthosis with at least one holding element for placing on a body part and securing the holding element with at least one securing member, with which two ends of the holding element bearing on the body part can be connected to each other with tensioning. The at least one holding element is designed without a stable shaped part and allows the bandage to be applied using one hand because the holding element has at least one elastic expansion part, which does not perform the function of a shaped part adapted to the body part and which pretensions the holding element in such a starting shape that the ends of the holding element jut out from the body part, and, with the securing member, the ends of the holding element can be applied to the body part counter to the pretensioning of the expansion part.
ARM TENSIONING DEVICE TO PREVENT A SUPINE SLEEP POSITION
A system for holding a sleeper in a non-supine (e.g.: side-lying) sleeping position by: (a) placing a wrist or arm of a sleeper into a cuff connected to one end of a band or tube of elastic material; (b) connecting the second end of the band of elastic material to a stationary object, thereby restraining the range of motion of the user's upwardly facing arm when sleeping; and then (c) having the sleeper sleep in the non-supine side-lying sleeping position with the cuff connected to the upper facing arm, such that tension on the cuff from the elastic material pulls on the user's arm and thereby prevents the sleeper from rolling onto their back.
SHOULDER IMMOBILIZER AND ARM APPARATUS
A shoulder immobilizer and arm apparatus are provided for enhanced comfort and ease of use for rehabilitating a shoulder. The shoulder immobilizer includes a double figure-9 strap configuration to support the weight of an injured arm and shoulder comfortably. The shoulder immobilizer can be stepped down for modular construction and use depending on a user's needs. The shoulder immobilizer may be configured to cooperate with a corresponding arm apparatus, including an open-frame sling allowing for elbow extension and a simplified strap configuration.
Restraint for securing a person to an object, and a cut-resistant webbing
A non-injurious restraint for securing a person to an object comprising a flexible strap comprised of, or including a substantially cut-resistant webbing associated with a strip of steel interlinked rings and reinforcement cables. A locking mechanism including one or more projections or pins adapted to engage the interlinked rings in forming a fixed length loop. The strap adapted to be secured to the object with the loop adjusted to encircle the limb, and wherein the locking mechanism locks the length of the loop. A webbing for use in such restraints.
Prosthesis Simulator Devices and Methods
Prosthesis simulator devices including a first restraint configured to restrain one or more fingers of a wearer of the simulator, a second restraint configured to restrain a thumb of the wearer, and a plurality of artificial digits configured to move in a manner to simulate one or more prosthetic fingers and a prosthetic thumb of a prosthesis. The first restraint can be attached to a roof plate connected to a base plate and defining a dorsal side of the prosthesis simulator. The second restraint can be attached to a holster connected to the base plate on a palmar side of the prosthesis simulator. Also disclosed herein are methods of using the same.
Shoulder orthosis
A shoulder orthosis (1) including a support portion (2) for positioning above a shoulder of user, which support portion exhibits a front (3) and a rear (4) portion which are formed so as to in use be positioned respectively in front of and behind a shoulder joint of the shoulder, a chest band (5) for connection to said front and rear regions and extending around a users chest in use, an arm cuff for application around an arm associated with the shoulder of the user, tension bands for connecting the support portion and the arm cuff. The arm cuff is a lower arm cuff (6) for positioning around said lower arm, the support portion (2) includes the upper arm cuff (7) for the positioning onto the upper arm of said arm, and said tension bands (8) join the upper arm cuff (7) and the lower arm cuff (6).
SAFE MOBILITY FOR PATIENTS
Methods, computer program products, and systems are presented. The methods, computer program products, and systems can include, for instance: detecting, by machine logic, an event in a patient environment, wherein the event includes a body part of a patient moving to a location within a threshold distance of a point of interest, the point of interest being a location in the patient environment which if subject to contact by the body part poses risk to the patient; determining, by machine logic, one or more action to perform to control movement of the body part in response to the detecting the event in the patient environment; performing the one or more action to control movement of the body part in response to the detecting the event in the patient environment.
ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE FOR SCAPULOTHORACIC STABILIZATION
An orthopedic device is arranged for scapulothoracic stabilization, inclusive of features for biomechanical stabilization of the shoulder, scapula and spine, treated alone or in combination with assembly features for supporting an arm or shoulder. The orthopedic device may be arranged in a garment or shoulder harness such that either may include first and second strap systems for extending over first and second shoulders of a user, respectively, and each of the first and second strap systems forms a
Shoulder rotation device
A therapy aid device for improving rotation of shoulder complex is provided. The device includes an upper portion and a lower portion joined together by an angled connector. The upper portion is configured to attach to a user's upper arm and the lower portion is configured to attach to the user's lower arm. The lower portion may also be configured to keep a user's hand in a flexed angled position. Using the device, the user may rotate the shoulder and move while keeping the upper and lower arms and wrist in specific positions. For example, the user may rotate his shoulder such that the user's hand and forearm move away from the torso while the elbow generally remain in the same location.
