Arm immobilization apparatus
An arm immobilization apparatus may at least partially envelope both a patient's torso and the patient's injured arm. The apparatus may include a front flap configured to cover the injured arm and secure it against the patient's torso using at least one fastening device. The apparatus may at least partially prevent patients with less than fully developed, or reduced, mental capacity, from moving the injured arm.
RESCUE DEVICE
A rescue device comprising a closed loop element made of a flexible material and first and second slidable elements mounted to the closed loop element so as to be slidable therealong while frictionally engaging the closed loop element. The first and second slidable elements each pinch the closed loop element against itself to define a pair of opposed end loop portions and an intermediate loop portion extending therebetween, the intermediate loop portion extending between the first and second slidable elements and each of the end loop portions extending from a respective one of the first and second slidable elements opposed to the intermediate loop portion.
Arm Support Device and Method
Systems and methods of the disclosed embodiments may include an arm support device for the arms of a person. The device may include a first loop sized to receive a first arm when the first arm is positioned at a release position relative to the first loop, and to hold the first arm secure when the first arm is positioned at a securing position relative to the first loop, and a second loop sized to receive a second arm when the second arm is positioned at a release position relative to the second loop, and to hold the second arm secure when the second arm is positioned at a securing position relative to the second loop. The first loop may be connected with the second loop so as to support the person's arms when in a relaxed state.
Wearable garment that restricts range of motion of limbs
A garment for restricting the range of motion of a wearer can include a body assembly with one or more garment forming portions configured to form a first side and a second side. The first side and the second side can be removably joined by at least one fastener. The garment further includes first and second sleeves coupled to the body assembly at first and second armpit areas, respectively. Each of the sleeves can be securely attached to the body assembly by first and second attachment devices, respectively. Each of the first attachment device and the second attachment device can extend vertically from the respective armpit area toward a distal end of the respective sleeve. The garment also includes first and second leg portions that can be joined by a third attachment device extending vertically from an inseam toward a distal end of the first and second leg portions.
Non-Surgical Method and Apparatus for Treating Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
A method includes providing a strap having a length enabled to encircle one side of a user's hand and tricep area when the user's elbow is bent at 90, and creating a loop with the strap. The loop closing with a buckle, and positioning the inside of one end of the loop around a ventral or dorsal portion of a user's hand or fingers. A step is provided for positioning the inside flat surface of a second end of the loop around at an area at a back side of the user's upper arm, above the elbow, with the elbow bent at approximately 90 degrees. The strap is then tightened to achieve an effective stretch as determined by the user and the stretch may be held for a determined amount of time thereby increasing strength and flexibility and lessen pain in the user's hand, wrist and forearm.
Orthopedic device for scapulothoracic stabilization
An orthopedic device is arranged for scapulothoracic stabilization, inclusive of features for biomechanical stabilization of the shoulder, scapula and spine, treated alone or in combination with assembly features for supporting an arm or shoulder. The orthopedic device may be arranged in a garment or shoulder harness such that either may include first and second strap systems for extending over first and second shoulders of a user, respectively, and each of the first and second strap systems forms a
ADJUSTABLE BRACE ASSEMBLY AND METHODS OF USE
Example embodiments of the brace assembly are provided that utilize an elastic cross strap attached to mounting facilities about a joint to provide dynamic forces on a joint. In some embodiments for a knee joint, the brace assembly provides an offloading force to offload forces put on the knee. Some embodiments of the brace assembly further comprise adjusting facilities to accommodate different joints, different size wearers of the assembly and different tension settings to give different therapeutic effects. Some embodiments of the brace assembly may further include cross straps to provide training strap features for the wearer. Some embodiments of the brace assembly may provide patella stabilizing features.
Extremity stabilization system for medical procedures
A system including method and device with attachments and elements as a means of enhancing vascular access or other medical procedures, such as wound care or diagnostics, or for general medical purposes by effectively stabilizing patients' upper or lower extremities in a safer, more reliable, less intrusive and less costly manner. One embodiment indicates a rigid device with attachments for securing and immobilizing the rigid device and a shape and inflatable pressure cuffs (211) or bands for stabilizing the extremity to the device by eliminating or reducing the number of involved medical personnel, reducing risk of injury or trauma such as medical adhesive related skin injuries or contusions and eliminating or reducing the need for sedation to accomplish the medical procedure especially in children, infants, neonates, and preemies. Other embodiments include multiple sizes, shapes, dimensions, materials and elements necessary to accomplish safe stabilization of an extremity.
Training garment for person suffering from upper limb dysfunction
The present invention provides a training garment (1) for persons suffering from upper limb dysfunction. According to one aspect of the invention, the training garment (1) comprises a shoulder garment (10), which comprises a shoulder portion (11) adapted to be worn across a person's shoulder and a first main body portion (12) adapted to be worn around the trunk of the person. Both ends of the shoulder portion (11) are attached to the first main body portion (12), and the shoulder portion (11) has an area (101) for receiving a shoulder marker. The proposed training garment (1), due to its special design of the shoulder portion (11) and the first main body portion (12), can prevent displacement of the shoulder marker while the person is performing active rehabilitation exercises, such as raising up his arm, and therefore, it can improve the recognition accuracy of the movement tracking system for the rehabilitation training.
