Stabilizing and mobility-enhancing brace for the shoulder joint
A stabilizing and mobility-enhancing brace for the shoulder joint is a device for providing structural support to the user's shoulder joint while allowing a degree of mobility for the user's shoulder and the user's arm. The device includes a shoulder joint brace for providing stability to the shoulder as well as an elbow brace for providing stability to the arm. The elbow brace is connected to the shoulder joint brace through a mobility strap and a deltoid connector strap that enable movement of the user's arm. The mobility strap is engaged through a strap groove on the shoulder joint brace and is able to slide over a roller assembly within the strap groove. The shoulder joint brace is also secured to a lateral thoracic brace worn on the user's body via a torso strap assembly. The elbow brace is fastened in place via a plurality of elbow securing straps.
SHOULDER INJURY ALERT DEVICE
A shoulder injury alert device includes a cover to overlap an anterior and a posterior surface of a wearer's shoulder. The cover may include warning indicia thereon to alert others that the wearer has a shoulder injury. A neck strap is provided to secure a top end of the cover about the patient's shoulder. An arm strap is provided to secure a bottom end of the cover about the patient's upper arm. The straps may be secured with cooperating fasteners. The shoulder injury alert device is intended to alert others of the patient's shoulder condition, which may not be otherwise apparent, particularly when approaching the patient from behind.
SUPPORT STRAP SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
A harness system includes a torso strap to fit around the torso of a wearer; one or more arm straps; a back strap extending between the torso strap and the one or more arm straps; two cuffs positioned opposite one another via the one or more arm straps; and a handle extending from the back strap; the two cuffs are to secure around the arms of the wearer; and the handle provides for a way to support the wearer.
Shoulder rehabilitation brace
A shoulder rehabilitation brace that operates to aid patients in rehabilitating their shoulder joint in an anatomically correct manner with the trapezius is locked down in order to prevent substantial upward shoulder shrug movements. Embodiments of the shoulder rehabilitation brace may include a shoulder strap and a thigh strap, with the shoulder strap using the thigh strap as an anchor while encircling a user's torso and engaging the user's shoulder to cause force to be exerted on the shoulder that prevents shoulder/scapular hiking and keeps the shoulder blade in retracted position in a manner that helps prevent potential shoulder impingement scenarios. In this regard, the shoulder rehabilitation brace is able to emulate the same hand on trapezius area function that therapists manually apply to patient rehabbing a shoulder condition in-clinic.
Orthopedic Devices
The present application is directed to methods and devices for reducing shoulder impingement for a person in a lying position. The device may comprise a generally tubular cuff having an inner radius defining an open passage through the cuff and extending from a proximal end to a distal end, an outer radius defining a sidewall thickness between the inner radius and the outer radius, and a length from the proximal end to the distal end. The outer diameter may be selected to provide a sidewall thickness that restricts movement of the arm such that shoulder flexion, extension, adduction, abduction, lateral rotation, and medial rotation are each limited.
Traveler's personal arm rest device
A traveler's personal arm rest device comprises a chest portion and a pair of shoulder straps configured to supportively maintain the chest portion against the anterior side of a wearer's torso. In an embodiment, the chest portion may be securely folded to define a tubular cavity sized to accommodate all of the wearer's arms therein so that such arms may be maintained and comfortably supported by way of the straps in a resting position that is in line with his or her own body. The disclosure may provide a wearer with increased comfort while seated in cramped modes of public transportation and further prevent passive aggressive and even assertive arguments with neighbors regarding available arm resting spaces. Elements enabling compact self-stowage when not in use, providing ergonomic support when worn, and permitting storage of personal belongings therein are also provided.
ARM IMMOBILIZERS AND RELATED METHODS
Arm immobilizers and related methods are disclosed. According to an aspect, an arm immobilizer includes an elongated, flexible material having a first end and a second end. Further, the arm immobilizer includes a first part of a hook and fastener material attached to the first end. The arm immobilizer includes a second part of the hook and fastener material being attached to a portion of the elongated, flexible material positioned at a predefined location between the first end and the second end. The arm immobilizer includes a hoop shaped component that defines an aperture and is attached to the second end. The hoop shaped component is sized for receiving the first end through the aperture such that the first end is foldable towards the predefined location between the first end and the second end for attachment of the first part to the second part of the hook and fastener material.
HEAD AND ARM RESTRAINT SUPPORT CUFF
A head and arm restraint support cuff for shifting individuals from one location to another is disclosed. The support cuff comprises a head loop or upper large loop connected with one or more arm loops or lower smaller loops for receiving the head and wrist of any individual. Further, the support cuff is an adjustable support cuff. The adjustable support cuff includes a padding with an adjustable strap. The padding further includes one or more insertion clips and pull loops at each end. The adjustable strap is pulled through the insertion clips to increase or decrease the overall length of the padding. Further, one or more receiver clips are attached to the hand loops to accommodate the hands of any individual. The receiver clips are attached facing upwards for receiving the insertion clips. Further, the support cuff is made of any kind of flexible or elastic material.
HUMAN RESTRAINT DEVICE
A human restraint device enables effective restraint by pressing a person's arms against the person's torso. The device includes a band dimensioned to fit over an upper torso and shoulders of a person; an inflatable tube attached to the band, wherein the tube expands during inflation inwards and away from the band, whereby the tube presses against the torso of the person; a net comprising a mouth attached around a circumference of the band; and a gas release mechanism to rapidly inflate the inflatable tube. Net preferably includes a spit-proof material.
Sensory Activity Sack
A sensory activity sack provides a garment with pleasant tactile features offering safe sensory stimulation for persons with developmental or sensory disabilities and an isolation bag for the wearer's arms and hands. The isolation bag prevents the wearer from engaging in self-injurious behavior or other harmful behaviors. Multiple fabrics and textures in the isolation bag, including mesh and denim, provide a pleasing tactile experience, which can be furthered by the placement of toys into the isolation bag. Sensory panels made with a sturdy, textured material such as denim provide tactile stimulation and resistance against wear and biting, as well as adding a comforting weight to the sensory activity sack for wearers with sensory issues.
