Package protection using existing security system
A computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a base station of a security system, an identification of a shipment package, the identification received from a first security sensor that is part of the security system. The method further includes adding, by the base station, a shipment device of the shipment package as a second security sensor of the security system. The method further includes configuring, by the base station, the shipment device in protect-mode, wherein the shipment device sounds an alarm in response to the shipment being displaced by at least a predetermined distance when in the protect-mode. The method further includes reconfiguring, by the base station, the shipment device in safe-mode in response to receiving, from a customer associated with the shipment package, a confirmation signal that the shipment package has been safely received.
MONITORING OBJECTS CAPABLE OF WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
A method of monitoring objects capable of wireless communications is provided. The method includes detecting an activity performed by a user of a wireless communications device, acquiring information identifying an expected set of objects which are associated with the detected activity, determining whether at least one of the objects in the expected set is not in proximity of the wireless communications device, and if so, notifying the user that at least one of the objects in the expected set is not in proximity of the wireless communications device.
INDEX OF EVERYDAY LIFE
A mobile phone connected to a fleet of radio transceiver chips that can be individually identified by the mobile station, which automatically are associated with a photo when the phone camera is used in proximity. The transceiver chips have a small loudspeaker, vibrator and/or light emitter for producing an alarm, and the transceiver chip also can determine and send back its location to the mobile phone. The mobile phone deduces its location by GPS or triangulation, and has an application which can be programmed to check the location of items given predetermined criteria are met, or upon user request. For example the mobile phone can be used to program luggage lists, and check whether everything is with the user at a time. The best mode involves typically a smartphone with relevant application software and RFID tags enhanced by light emitter, loudspeaker and/or vibrator and adhesive.
Security alarm system for newborns
Disclosed is a security alarm system for newborns. The security alarm system comprises bracelets, positioning labels, limiting labels and a computer, wherein the bracelets comprise newborn bracelets and mother bracelets corresponding to the newborn bracelets, and the newborn bracelets and the mother bracelets corresponding to the newborn bracelets are matched and connected through unique identification codes; and the positioning labels are arranged in a corridor of a ward area, provide positioning information for the newborn bracelets, and provide communication connection between the newborn bracelets and the computer. In the mode, mother and infant identification can be realized through matching modules; when a newborn goes out, the newborn is positioned and the position is inquired in real time through positioning modules and the positioning labels, an alarm is given when the newborn goes out without authorization through the limiting labels, and images are transmitted in real time through camera modules.
Information handling system with consolidated external user presence detection
An information handling system includes a host device and multiple monitor devices. One of the monitor devices is configured as a parent monitor device, and the remaining monitor devices are configured as child monitor devices. The parent monitor device receives a user presence detect (UPD) status signal, and queries all of the child monitor devices for a current UPD status. In response to the queries, the parent monitor consolidates the current UPD status from each of the child monitor devices and the current UPD status of the parent monitor device. Based on the consolidated current UPD status and based on a UPD policy, the parent monitor device sets a current user status as a user absence or presence. In response to the processor being in a low power state and the current user status being the user presence, the patent monitor device provides a wake notification to the host device.
TRACKING DEVICE PRESENCE DETECTION AND REPORTING BY ACCESS POINTS
A tracking system determines a location of a tracking device associated with a user using one or more access points at the location. Each access point at the location is configured to detect and couple with the tracking device when the tracking device is within a communicative range of the access point. An access point provides updates on the tracking device's presence, as well as the tracking device's arrival to and departure from the communicative range of the access point, to a tracking server. The tracking server determines, from these updates, whether the tracking device is at the location. The user may be notified, via a mobile device, of the tracking device's location.

SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR DISTRIBUTED NETWORK OF REDUNDANT CENTRAL STATIONS
Techniques are described for distributing, to a distributed network of central stations, alarm events detected in monitoring system data collected by sensors included in monitoring systems located at monitored properties. A system receives monitoring system data collected by sensors included in monitoring systems located at monitored properties, tracks alarm events detected within the monitoring system data, and generates, for central station servers in a distributed network of central stations, load profiles that reflect a volume of alarm events being handled at each of the central station servers at a particular period of time. The system determines capacities to handle additional alarm events for the central station servers, determines relative priorities for the central station remote servers based on the determined capacities, and directs subsequent alarm events to the central station servers based on the relative priorities.
Tracking proximities of devices and/or objects
Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method, and/or computer program product embodiments for tracking proximities of devices and/or objects. In one embodiment, the system operates by determining whether a plurality of devices of a tethered segment are inside or outside a predefined area. The system also operates by determining that a first device of the plurality of devices is outside of the predefined area based at least partially on the determination of whether the plurality of devices are inside or outside the predefined area. The system further operates by transmitting at least one alert notification to at least one device based at least partially on the determination that the first device is outside the predefined area, wherein the alert notification identifies the first device outside the predefined area.
