ASSET TRACKING AND PROTECTION
A device that is configured to track an asset is disclosed. In one aspect, the device includes a radio module that generates proximity data that indicates a distance between the computing device and the device. The device includes a processor that compares the distance between the computing device and the device to a distance threshold. The processor determines that the distance between the computing device and the device satisfies the distance threshold. The processor arms the device. The device includes a motion sensor that generates motion data. The processor compares the motion data to a motion threshold. The processor determines that the motion data satisfies the motion threshold. The processor activates an alarm state.
WARNINGS DEPENDENT ON LOCATION
An apparatus (10) comprising: means for determining a current state of each of a first alert module (20_1) and a second alert module (20_2) of a group (22) of alert modules (20), wherein a current state (S_1) of the first alert module (20_1) is dependent upon at least a current location (L_1) of the first alert module (20_1) and a current state (S_2) of the second alert module (20_2) is dependent upon at least a current location (L_2) of the second alert module (20_2); means (30) for providing a first warning signal (W_1) to a first entity (40_1) dependent at least partially on the current state (S_i) of the first alert module (20_1) and/or the second alert module (20_2) of the group (22) of alert modules (20); and means (30) for providing a second warning signal (W_2) to the first entity (40_1) and/or a second entity (40_2) dependent at least partially on the current state (S_i) of the first alert module (20_1) and/or the second alert module (20_2) of the group (22) of alert modules (20).
Systems and methods for issuing proactive parental control alerts
The disclosed computer-implemented method for issuing proactive parental control alerts may include (i) monitoring, through a sensor of the computing device, sensor data indicating an emotional state of a child consuming media content through the computing device, (ii) detecting, through analyzing the sensor data, that the media content has triggered an adverse emotional state within the child, and (iii) performing a security action, in response to detecting that the media content has triggered the adverse emotional state within the child, by issuing an alert in connection with a parental control software system that controls access by the child to media content. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING RETAIL DISPLAY MERCHANDISE FROM THEFT
Security systems and methods configured for use with an item of merchandise for retail display include a housing, at least one sensor carried by the housing and at least one output device carried by the housing. The security system further includes a controller carried by the housing and operably coupled to the sensor and to the output device. The controller is operable to determine a distance traveled by the item of merchandise from a retail display “home” position based upon a sensor input from the sensor, and to activate the output device based upon the distance traveled by the item of merchandise exceeding a threshold distance. The controller may utilize the at least one sensor in conjunction with an inertial navigation system (INS) and motion processing algorithms or techniques to determine the distance traveled by the item of merchandise from the retail display “home” position.
TRACKING DEVICE FOR A TRACK AND LOCATE SYSTEM
A tracking device for a track and rescue system that wirelessly couples to a control system via a first link established between a control system first type wireless communication interface coupled to the control system and a tracking device first type wireless communication interface included in the tracking device when the tracking device first type wireless communication interface is within range of the control system first type wireless communication interface. The tracking device determines that a first predetermine time period has been satisfied, and in response, determines location information for the tracking device using the positioning system. The tracking device sends, in response to the first predetermined time period being satisfied, an alive signal to the control system via the first link, and the alive signal includes the location information.
Bidirectional tracking system and bidirectional tracking method
A bidirectional tracking system including a wearable device and a tracking tag, the wearable device being for a user to wear or carry, and the tracking tag being for attaching to a valuable personal object, the wearable device including a first UWB module, a first Bluetooth module and a first alarm module; the tracking tag including a second UWB module; and the valuable personal object including a tracking application program; where the valuable personal object is configured to perform a Bluetooth ranging procedure with the first Bluetooth module to obtain a first distance, when the first distance is greater than a first warning distance, the first UWB module performs a UWB ranging procedure with the second UWB module to obtain a second distance, and when the second distance is greater than a second warning distance, the first alarm module sends a warning message.
Parent and child paired safety devices and method of use thereof
A safety system is provided that provides a progressive series of notifications to wirelessly tethered devices based on distance and/or elapsed time criteria when one of the devices physically moves outside of comfort zone set by the other device.
Wireless device security system
A device in a wireless device security system may include at least one processor configured to determine a location of the device with respect to a security area. The at least one processor may be further configured to provide an alert output when the determined location of the device is proximate to a boundary of the security area. The at least one processor may be further configured to prevent the device from responding to at least some user input when the determined location of the device is outside of the security area. The at least one processor may be further configured to provide a disturbance output when the determined location of the device is outside of the security area.
Wearable charm anti-theft system with a snooze feature
An anti-theft proximity alert system that includes a wearable smart charm with a charm housing, and an object monitor with a housing and a snooze switch, and a controller with at least one snooze operating instruction to adjust a threshold alert criterion based upon a setting of the snooze switch.
