In-Line Sampling Apparatus for Bodily Fluids

A drainage liquid sampling system is disclosed and includes a connector couplable with a drainage tube of a drainage system, the connector defining an inlet port, an outlet port, and a sample port, where the inlet port, the outlet port, and the sample port are in fluid communication with each other, and a sample container couplable with the sample port. A valve within the connector selectively allows and prevents flow of drainage liquid into the sample container. A cap couplable to the sample container also includes a valve. A system for draining liquid from a patient includes the drainage liquid sampling system.

Catheter system

A catheter system is disclosed that includes a catheter with an elongated, flexible tube having an entry end, an exit end, and a control valve. The control valve controls the flow of fluids through the catheter tube. The exit end or control valve also includes a coupler which is utilized to allow the catheter to be moved between a stowed condition coupled to a flexible belt and an in-use condition uncoupled from the belt.

Body fluid optical analysis device

A body fluid analysis device that irradiates a body fluid in a tube having translucency with light and analyzes the body fluid on the basis of light having passed through the tube is adapted to include: a base; an attachment that is attached to the base 1 so that the tube is pinched in its radial direction between the attachment and the base; a light emitting element that is provided to the base or the attachment; and a light receiving element that is provided to the base or the attachment, in which in a state where the attachment is attached to the base, between the base and the attachment, the light emitting element and the light receiving element are arranged so as to pinch the tube in the radial direction, or both of the light emitting element and the light receiving element are arranged in the base or the attachment.

Ostomy pouch with tortuous path

An ostomy pouch includes an outer wall (12) having an inlet opening (24) and a filter (20), the outer wall defining an interior volume (14), an internal wall structure (16) disposed within the interior volume, a one-way valve (22) connected to the internal wall structure, and a path (18) formed by the internal wall structure, the path having an opening (28) at one end and the one-way valve at another end, wherein the filter is positioned within the path.

URINARY SYSTEM MAKING THE INVOLUNTARY EXCRETION OCCURING AFTER COLOSTOMY, ILEOSTOMY AND UROSTOMY VOLUNTARY
20230099115 · 2023-03-30 ·

A urinary system is used to excrete the contents of the large intestine, small intestine and urinary bladder through the stoma after colostomy, ileostomy and urostomy and makes the involuntary excretion occurring in the stoma voluntary and is connected to the bottom adapter adhering to the skin such that it will isolate the stoma in the excretory region of the user's abdominal wall.

CLINICAL GARMENT FOR INFANTS

An interactive one-piece pantsuit is provided for wear by an infant/toddler, when a medical device has been surgically implanted into the infant/toddler. For this purpose, the pantsuit acts as a protective garment which normally covers and protects extracorporeal components of the medical device. The garment, however, includes flaps which are positioned at key locations on the garment over the extracorporeal components of the medical device. These flaps can then be selectively raised to temporarily provide a caregiver with the necessary access to the medical device for operational or maintenance purposes.

Fluid handling devices

Quick disconnect fluid coupling devices described herein. The fluid couplings are configured for use in fluid systems for the purpose of providing a low-spill quick disconnect coupling. The fluid couplings include portions that are pivotable in relation to each other to open and close a fluid pathway through the fluid couplings. Particular embodiments of these fluid coupling can be configured to improve medical fluid handling equipment because the fluid coupling devices can be connected and disconnected (e.g., multiple times) while minimizing fluid spillage.

FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES HAVING MULTIPLE FLUID COLLECTION REGIONS, AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Examples relate to fluid collection devices, and related systems and methods. In some embodiments, a fluid collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier and a fluid permeable body. The fluid impermeable barrier may at least partially define a chamber, an opening in fluid communication with the chamber, an aperture, and multiple fluid collection regions each angled relative to one or more adjacent fluid collection regions of the multiple fluid collection regions. One or more conduits may be positioned at least partially within the chamber and extending through or in fluid communication with the aperture in the fluid impermeable barrier. At least one inlet may be in fluid communication with the one or more conduits and positioned or positionable in each of the multiple fluid collection regions. The fluid permeable body may be positioned within the chamber and extend across at least a portion of the opening.

Segmented Drainage Tubes
20230091531 · 2023-03-23 ·

Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to systems and methods of drainage tubes displaying differing mechanical properties along an axial length. These drainage tubes can be provided as integrally formed tubes or as modular systems and can be provided as part of a kit. The differing mechanical properties allows a user to position the tube and to prevent the formation of dependent loops, which allow fluid to pool therein. Proximal portions of the tube can display rigid or malleable properties to maintain a negative incline, or be positioned and remain in position until repositioned. Modular tube kits allow a user to select different mechanical properties along an axial length and modify an overall length of the tube to suit the user's needs.

PERCUTANEOUS TRANSABDOMINAL PORT FOR HOLLOW VISCERA
20220339021 · 2022-10-27 ·

Disclosed is a percutaneous transabdominal port that provides access to a hollow visceral organ. The percutaneous transabdominal port is hollow and has a channel connecting the external surface of the abdomen to the inside of an organ. A catheter or other instrument may pass through this channel into the organ. The percutaneous transabdominal port has a hollow tube which spans an abdominal wall tract, an internal retainer to prevent unintended removal, and an external retainer to prevent withdrawal into the body. If the internal retainer does not rely on inflation, the hollow tube may be cut to length. An optional seal prevents fluid leakage while permitting passage of catheters or instruments. An optional closure cap is described. A method of inserting, utilizing, and removing the percutaneous transabdominal port is described.
