Cable alarm tag
The present invention provides an improved cable that includes at least one insulated conductor insulated from and within and inside a insulated second conductor, with both conductors connected with both ends with a cable alarm tag to form a closed electrical circuit, with the loop of the cable connected to an article for securing the article. With the cable of the present invention, if severed, the use of jumper cables will maintain the electrical circuit loop closed for the outer conductor only, but not the insulated inner conductor that is within and inside the outer conductor. Therefore, when severing the cable to disconnect and discontinue the physical loop to remove the secured article, even if cable jumpers are used, the insulated inner conductor will remain open circuited when the cable is cut, resulting in trigger of the alarm.
Monitoring security
Methods are disclosed that, in some aspects, provide for the determination of alarm events or non-alarm events based on data received from various sensors monitoring one or more entry points of a premises. Non-alarm events may, for example, include a seismic event or a knock event. Determining whether the data received from the various sensors is an alarm or non-alarm event may be based on data received from two or more sensors monitoring two or more entry points of the premises. Further, data related to the non-alarm event that occurred at the premise may be compared to data related to non-alarm events that occurred at other premises and, based on the comparison, one or more authorities may be alerted to the non-alarm event.
Battery tamper indicator for detector
A smoke detector includes a tamper indicator that can prevent a cover from at least partially covering a battery location and/or mounting of a detector body to a detector mount if a battery is not located at the battery location of the detector body. The detector mount and/or cover can engage with the detector body by relative rotation about an engagement axis, and the tamper indicator can pivot about a pivot axis that is parallel to the engagement axis and/or move along a linear path. The tamper indicator can prevent engagement of a portion of the detector mount, such as an intermediate component between the detector body and a base of the detector mount, with the detector body. The intermediate component can at least partially cover the battery location when engaged with the detector body. The base of the detector mount can engage with the detector body via the intermediate component.
Premises system management using status signal
Methods and systems for managing a security system are described. A security server located external to a premises may be in communication with a security system and a gateway device located at the premises. A status signal may be sent to the security server. The status signal may be initiated based on an alarm event. If the security server fails to detect a message of the status signal, the security server may send one or messages indicating the failure.
Public view monitor with tamper deterrent and security
The present invention provides a device, comprising one or more embedded tamper deterrent and security systems that trigger an alarm if the device is tampered.
Security Device
A security device comprises a housing assembly comprising a mounting bracket and a main housing detachably mountable to the mounting bracket. The housing assembly has a closed configuration that can be at least partially opened using a first mechanism. When the housing assembly is at least partially opened, a second mechanism is accessible to be manipulated to enable movement of the main housing with respect to the mounting bracket. In the closed configuration the second mechanism prevents movement of the main housing with respect to the mounting bracket and is inaccessible to thereby prevent said manipulation. A method of retaining a main housing of a security device on a mounting bracket when inserting a further housing component into engagement with the main housing is also disclosed.
PORTABLE ALARM SYSTEM
A portable alarm system is disclosed. The portable alarm system includes a portable base station, which has an outer housing that encloses a power supply and a secondary protective housing. The secondary protective housing encloses at least a controller and a cellular modem that are electrically connected to each other. An energy storage device, such as a super capacitor, is configured to maintain a store of energy and is electrically connected to the controller and the cellular modem to provide an alternative power source thereto.
ANTI-JAMMING ALARM SECURITY SYSTEM
The alarm security system is provided. The alarm security system includes a detector. The detector may be situated near a door or window of a building and may detect a breach within the area, such as a building. The present invention further includes an emitter operable to produce a trigger signal. The trigger signal is at least one of a sound and a light. The trigger signal is produced by the emitter when the detector detects the breach within the area. A receiver is operable to receive the trigger signal. A transmitter is operable to transmit a communication to a remote alarm monitoring center when the receiver receives the trigger signal.
System and method for alarm signaling during alarm system destruction
A system and method provide for the immediate transmission of a potential alarm to a remote alarm signal escrow site and from the escrow site to a host station in the event where a control panel or an alarm signaling device is tampered with or destroyed by a disablement tactic, e.g., a “crash and smash intrusion.” A system and method may also send an alarm signal during such an attack by using predictive analysis of real-time events.
Combination non-programmable and programmable key for security device
A security device for an item of merchandise is provided. The security device includes a non-programmable locking mechanism comprising a mechanical lock and a programmable locking mechanism comprising a monitoring circuit operatively coupled to an alarm. The security device is configured to secure an item of merchandise from theft or removal when the mechanical lock is locked and to be separated from the item of merchandise when the mechanical lock is unlocked. The alarm is configured to provide an alarm signal if the security device is separated from the item of merchandise while the monitoring circuit is armed.
