Monitoring security
Methods are disclosed that, in some aspects, provide for the determination of alarm events or non-alarm events based on data received from various sensors monitoring one or more entry points of a premises. Non-alarm events may, for example, include a seismic event or a knock event. Determining whether the data received from the various sensors is an alarm or non-alarm event may be based on data received from two or more sensors monitoring two or more entry points of the premises. Further, data related to the non-alarm event that occurred at the premise may be compared to data related to non-alarm events that occurred at other premises and, based on the comparison, one or more authorities may be alerted to the non-alarm event.
SELECTIVELY ENABLED TAMPER DETECTION
A device includes a housing, a tamper switch supported at the housing, and a tamper actuator receivable at the housing. The tamper actuator is movable between a tamper disabled position and a tamper enabled position. In the tamper disabled position, the tamper actuator is fixed in place at the housing. In the tamper enabled position, the tamper actuator is configured to move relative to the housing between a tamper switch engaged position and a tamper switch released position.
Image surveillance and reporting technology
Image surveillance and reporting technology, in which an event that is indicative of potential physical activity within an area corresponding to a location of a camera unit is detected. In response to detection of the event, the camera unit is controlled to capture one or more images of the area corresponding to the location of the camera unit. The one or more images captured by the camera unit are analyzed to determine whether the one or more images include image data that is indicative of relevant physical activity within the area corresponding to the location of the camera unit. The one or more images are handled based on the determination of whether the one or more images include image data that is indicative of relevant physical activity within the area corresponding to the location of the camera unit.
Virtual sensors
Virtual sensor technology, in which a camera is controlled to capture at least one configuration image of an area monitored by a monitoring system and input is received that defines one or more characteristics of the at least one configuration image that enable sensing of an event in the area. Based on the received input, configuration data used in sensing the event is generated and stored. After storage of the configuration data, the camera is controlled to capture one or more images of the area, the one or more images are analyzed based on the configuration data, and occurrence of the event is detected based on the analysis of the one or more images. Based on detecting occurrence of the event, a transmitting device is controlled to send, to a controller of the monitoring system, a signal that indicates the detection of the occurrence of the event.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ALARM SIGNALING DURING ALARM SYSTEM DESTRUCTION
A system and method provide for the immediate transmission of a potential alarm to a remote alarm signal escrow site and from the escrow site to a host station in the event where a control panel or an alarm signaling device is tampered with or destroyed by a disablement tactic, e.g., a “crash and smash intrusion.” A system and method may also send an alarm signal during such an attack by using predictive analysis of real-time events.
Alarm signaling technology
Techniques are described for handling an event where a control panel or an alarm signaling device is tampered with or destroyed by a disablement tactic, e.g., a “crash and smash intrusion.”
Magnetic field sensor for an access point
A device may monitor an entry to or exit from a space via an access point. The entry access point has a first component and a second component that are separable from each other to create an opening for the entry or exit. The device may comprise a first part for mounting to one of said components and which has a processing component and a sensing component for sensing in multiple dimensions a magnetic field emanating from a second part mounted on the other of the first and second components. The processing component is configured: to receive an indication of the sensed magnetic field; detect a change of condition at the access point when a dynamic quality of the indication of the sensed magnetic field satisfies a predefined criterion; and output an indication of the detected change of condition. There may be a corresponding system, method and memory.
Systems and methods for monitoring system equipment diagnosis
Various systems, methods, and/or devices are discussed for diagnosing monitoring system equipment functionality. In some cases methods are discussed that include, inter alia, receiving test results and sending test commands to/from monitor devices. The results are analyzed to determine an operation status. In various cases systems for determining operation status are discussed that include at least two monitor devices. The monitor devices are configured to execute test commands and to provide corresponding results. The results are analyzed to determine an operation status.
FLAME DETECTING ARRANGEMENT
In accordance with one or more embodiments herein, a flame detecting arrangement 100 is provided. The flame detecting arrangement 100 comprises: at least one optical flame detector 110, arranged with its field-of-view covering a predetermined area; at least one movement sensor 120, arranged together with the at least one flame detector 110; and at least one processing device 180 arranged together with the at least one flame detector 110. The at least one processing device 180 is arranged to: receive signals from the movement sensor 120; detect abnormal movement of the flame detector 110 based on these signals; and alert an operator and/or a control system 200 if abnormal movement of the flame detector 110 has been detected. This enables the field-of-view of the flame detector to be corrected to the desired, preferably the original, field-of-view.
Systems and methods for monitoring system equipment diagnosis
Various embodiments provide systems and methods for diagnosing monitoring system equipment functionality. In some instances, a first test command is provided to a user attached monitor device and a second test command is provided to a user detached monitor device. A first test result is received from the user attached monitor device and a second test result is received from the user detached monitor device. A combination of the first test result and the second test result is analyzed to determine an operation status.
