APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR RECEIVING DISCHARGED URINE
A system suitable for collecting and transporting urine away from the body of a person or animal may include an assembly having a fluid impermeable casing having a fluid reservoir at a first end, a fluid outlet at a second end, and a longitudinally extending fluid impermeable layer coupled to the fluid reservoir and the fluid outlet and defining a longitudinally elongated opening between the reservoir and the outlet. The assembly can further include a fluid permeable support disposed within the casing with a portion extending across the elongated opening, and a fluid permeable membrane disposed on the support and covering at least the portion of the support that extends across the elongated opening, so that the membrane is supported on the support and disposed across the elongated opening. The assembly can further include a tube having a first end disposed in the reservoir and a second, fluid discharge end.
Disposable Urinal Bag and Methods Associated Therewith
A sanitary hand-held disposable portable urinal device is well suited for male use. In an embodiment, this easy to use device has a leak and splash resistant flexible, sealable opening that is attached to two flexible transparent plastic bags. In an embodiment, bags are nested inside of each other and are joined together to provide entry only to the inner bag. The bags are odor and vapor sealable and made of a hydrophobic polymer that may be biodegradable. In the space between the two bags a dry gel polymer is present. After the urine is collected in the inner bag the top of the bag is sealed. The contents of the inner bag are then exposed to the space containing the gel through a water soluble, or mechanical means. After use, the disposable urinal may be discarded.
APPARATUS AND METHODS OF USING AN INTRA-VAGINAL FLUID COLLECTION DEVICE
Arrangements described herein relate to a device for collecting intravaginal fluid. The device is defined by a hollow collector and a flexible fluid collection bag, wherein the device is configured such that when inserted into the vagina, the hollow collector forms a seal with the inner walls of the vagina, while the fluid collection bag extends outside the body. By allowing fluid to collect outside the body rather than inside the, the device is permitted to be narrow in diameter (such as, for example, the diameter of a tampon), to increase user comfort. Flaps at the opening of the hollow collector may be used to seal fluid within the device when it is extracted from the body.
Devices, systems and methods for regulating flow from a stoma on a patient
A medical appliance is configured with material that creates a fluid barrier with interior walls of a stoma on a patient. These configurations may include an annular disc with a stem on one side that inserts into the stoma. The material may reside on the stem, for example, in the form of a replaceable hollow tube that covers at least part of the stem. On the other side, a rotatable spigot inserts into a recess. The rotatable spigot has a first position that forms a flow path through the stem and the annular disc to allow waste to drain from the stoma. In one implementation, the rotatable spigot can couple with a collection device that receives the waste. The patient can return the rotatable spigot to a second position to prevent flow of waste.

LID FOR AN OSTOMY IMPLANT
A lid for an ostomy implant is provided. A base includes an attachment means for attachment to the implant and a sliding part. The sliding part is arranged such that when the sliding part slid along a first sliding route, the sliding part causes the lid to be attachable to or detachable from the implant, and when the sliding part is slid along a second sliding route, the sliding part causes the lid to open, for evacuating a stoma to which the ostomy implant is connected, and closed, for preventing leaks from the stoma, while the lid remains attached to the implant.

Ostomy appliance
An ostomy appliance that has inner and outer walls of flexible sheet material joined together to define a cavity for containing a stomal output, the inner wall having an inlet for receiving the stomal output into the cavity, a retractable drain being slidably movable between an extended configuration for draining the stomal output from the cavity and a retracted configuration for storage of the drain, and a guide panel arranged on the inner wall or the outer wall, thereby defining a channel for receiving the retractable drain.
System for collecting body waste of non-ambulatory patients
A body waste collection system for bedridden or chair-bound patients. A waste entry port may interface with a resting surface of the bed or chair by way of a funnel that terminates at the resting surface. A collection unit may be fluidly coupled to the waste entry port by a flexible conduit system. The collection unit may include a temperature gauge, a volume measure, a sample port, and an odor removal port. Once the bedridden or chair-bound patient has assumed a release position along the resting surface defined by the waste entry port, no other lifting or movement of the patient is needed to collect their body waste in the collection unit, which can utilize the integrated hardware.
