VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION METHODS AND SYSTEMS
Disclosed is a vehicle identification method and system. The method includes: acquiring appearance information of an inspected vehicle; obtaining external features of the vehicle based on the appearance information; acquiring a transmission image of the vehicle and obtaining internal features of the vehicle from the transmission image; forming descriptions on the vehicle at least based on the external features and the internal features; and determining a vehicle model of the vehicle from a vehicle model databased by utilizing the descriptions. This method merges various types of modality information, especially introducing the transmission image, and combines the internal structure information with the appearance information, so that the present disclosure can identify a vehicle model more practically.

CAMERA MODULE AND FOLDED OPTICAL SYSTEM FOR LASER-BASED SPEED GUN
A laser-based speed gun includes a camera module and a folded optical system including an objective lens and an eyepiece lens. The folded optical system includes first and second image redirecting elements for redirecting an image pathway from the objective lens to the eyepiece lens adjacent the camera module.
Privacy-preserving evidence in ALPR applications
A system and method for preserving privacy of evidence are provided. In the method, an encrypted first image is generated by encrypting a first image acquired at a first location with a symmetric cryptographic key that is based on first information such as a license plate number extracted from the first image and first metadata associated with the first image, such as a time at which the first image was acquired. When a link is established between a second image and the first image, for example, through visual signature matching, the symmetric cryptographic key can be reconstructed, without having access to the first image, but based instead on the first metadata and information extracted from the second image. The reconstructed symmetric cryptographic key can then be used for decryption of the encrypted image to establish evidence that the license plate number was indeed extracted from the first image.
VEHICLE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM, VEHICLE SURVEILLANCE METHOD, AND PROGRAM
A vehicle surveillance system includes: a photographing unit configured to photograph a target vehicle; a positional information acquisition unit configured to acquire positional information indicating a position of the photographing unit; a surveillance information generation unit configured to extract a vehicle number from an image acquired by the photographing unit and generate surveillance information on the basis of at least the vehicle number and the positional information; and a surveillance information output unit configured to output the surveillance information generated by the surveillance information generation unit. The photographing unit, the positional information acquiring unit, the surveillance information generation unit, and the surveillance information output unit are installed in a mobile surveillance vehicle.

Electronic motorcycle helmet
An electronic motorcycle helmet. The electronic motorcycle helmet includes a helmet having an aperture therein that can receive a head therethrough. A visor is disposed on a front side of the helmet and a display is disposed on an interior surface of the visor. A microprocessor, including a logic that receives a command input directed to one of a plurality of subsystems, toggles the subsystem between an activated state and a deactivated state, and displays a status window on the display corresponding to the subsystem. The plurality of subsystems includes a plurality of cameras disposed about the helmet, wherein each of the cameras is operably connected to the display and can apply a low-light filter for low-light conditions. Other subsystems include a wireless transmitter to wirelessly communicate with an external device, a GPS system, and a battery disposed at a lower edge of the rear side.
COMMUNITY SECURITY SYSTEM
Disclosed are system and processes that provide for community security systems. These community security systems integrate technology, community resources, and people to deter, prevent, or minimize the impact of intrusion, invasion, or unlawful entry to the community. An integrated management security system, an alert tower system, and a detection device system can communicate in real time to provide alerts regarding the presence of unauthorized, dangerous, reckless, or otherwise undesired vehicles or activities to members of an associated community.
