The present invention includes a male incontinence collection container comprising: a walled absorbent cored absorption chamber with an elastic aperture adapted to allow a penis to be in fluid communication with the chamber, wherein the chamber is shaped to deflect urine away from a body during urination, and wherein the elastic aperture is a breathable, tubular material to aid in the placement and retention in place of the penis, wherein the breathable, tubular material is embossed, punched, printed, stamped, has raised bumps, protrusions, or is formed to permit gas to traverse from an outside environment into and out of the chamber; a hydrophobic material between the chamber and the body to prevent contact of the urine with the body; and an absorbent material in the chamber that converts fluid to gel, wherein the absorbent material absorbs and retains urine, while keeping a user dry and free from urine contact.

Connected to the base is a sheath. The central opening and the sheath can have complementary attachment components whereby the sheath may be attached to the base. The sheath includes an opening and attaches to a drain tube. A second sheath may be disposed outboard of the first sheath and secured to the base in a similar manner. In some embodiments the drain tube may be connected and disconnected from the sheath or sheaths without disturbing the installation of the device. One or more check valves may be included for assuring one-way flow in the drain tube.

A urine collection system includes a urine collection device configured to collect urine discharged from a user and a urine collection container in fluid communication with the urine collection device and sized and dimensioned to receive the urine discharged from the user. The urine collection system also includes a flow meter having a communication interface and positioned between the urine collection container and the urine collection device. The flow meter is configured to detect a flow property of the urine at least related to a volume of the urine entering the urine collection container and the communication interface is configured to wirelessly communicate to a computing device at least one of the detected flow property or the volume of the urine including the volume of the urine discharged from the user entering the urine collection container.
