A wheel stopper device includes a housing which is configured to be placed on a ground surface and to be approached and/or driven over by a motor vehicle non-destructively, a communication module which is configured to receive control data from an external unit, a lighting element which is disposed in or on the housing and is configured to emit light which is visible in an environment of the wheel stopper device, and a control unit which is configured to operate the lighting element on a basis of the control data.

IDENTIFICATION OF A POORLY PARKED VEHICLE AND PERFORMANCE OF A FIRST GROUP OF ACTIONS TO CAUSE ONE OR MORE OTHER DEVICES TO PERFORM A SECOND GROUP OF ACTIONS

A device can receive parking metadata that includes location data indicating that a portion of a vehicle is located outside of a designated parking area (DPA). The device can process the parking metadata to identify values that are to be used when determining actions to perform. The device can obtain supplemental events data associated with events occurring near the DPA. The device can determine the actions to perform based on the parking metadata and the supplemental events data. The device can provide, as one of the actions and to one or more other devices or to the vehicle, a message indicating that the portion of the vehicle is located outside of the DPA. This can cause the one or more other devices or the vehicle to: move the vehicle from the DPA, reposition the vehicle within the DPA, or penalize an owner of the vehicle.

A parking assignment system that comprises: a parking assignment device; a computer system running software comprising a parking assignment algorithm wherein the parking assignment algorithm is stored on a computer readable medium; and a sensor; wherein said computer system is in communication with said sensor; wherein said computer system is in communication with said parking assignment device; wherein said parking assignment algorithm is configured to optimally assign a parking space; wherein said parking assignment device is configured to accept input that comprises data from said sensor and communicate said data from said sensor to said computer system; wherein said computer system is configured to use said data from said sensor to track available parking spots; and wherein said computer system is configured to accept input comprising a user's parking preferences and assign an optimal parking space according to said parking assignment algorithm.

Parking space light

Techniques for parking space light are provided. A parking space light can identify, via one or more instruments of the parking space light, a set of parking spaces in a defined region of a parking structure in which the parking space light is installed, monitor, via the one or more instruments, the set of parking spaces, and determine respective occupied statuses of parking spaces of the set of parking spaces, wherein the respective occupied statuses indicate whether the parking spaces are occupied or unoccupied.

Method and vehicle traffic control system
09824599 · 2017-11-21 · ·

A system and method of generating plan information for vehicles in a vehicle traffic or vehicle parking zone, including projecting into space, from a set of grid generators at the vehicle traffic or vehicle parking zone, a set of lines defining a relative navigation grid and encoded with grid data configured to identify predetermined points on the relative navigation grid, and detecting, with a detector module on a vehicle, a location of the vehicle within the grid.

Pedestrian path predictions

Systems and techniques for pedestrian path predictions are disclosed herein. For example, an environment, features of the environment, and pedestrians within the environment may be identified. Models for the pedestrians may be generated based on features of the environment. A model may be indicative of goals of a corresponding pedestrian and predicted paths for the corresponding pedestrian. Pedestrian path predictions for the pedestrians may be determined based on corresponding predicted paths. A pedestrian path prediction may be indicative of a probability that the corresponding pedestrian will travel a corresponding predicted path. Pedestrian path predictions may be rendered for the predicted paths, such as using different colors or different display aspects, thereby enabling a driver of a vehicle to be presented with information indicative of where a pedestrian is likely to travel.

Availability estimation method for parking lots based on incomplete data

Methods and systems for monitoring parking areas and/or recommending a parking spot or a parking area to a driver are provided. The methods and systems can operate using incomplete camera or sensor coverage and minimal additional overhead. A method for assigning parking locations can include providing a first parking area and a second parking area, providing a means for determining a first parking area density and a means for determining a second parking area density, calculating a first parking index for the first parking area and a second parking index for the second parking area, providing a user interface suitable for assigning parking areas to drivers, and providing an assigned parking area based on the means for determining the first parking area density, the means for determining the second parking area density, the first parking index, and the second parking index.

PARKING SPACE DETECTION METHOD AND SYSTEM
20220051560 · 2022-02-17 ·

Disclosed are devices, systems and methods for managing parking monitoring and enforcement. In one aspect, a method of determining whether a vehicle is present in a parking space includes monitoring the parking space with a first vehicle detection technique utilizing image processing and monitoring the parking space with a second vehicle detection technique that does not utilize image processing. The parking space can be monitored with a third vehicle detection technique that is different than the first and second vehicle detection techniques. A conclusion that a vehicle has entered or left the parking space can be determined upon a agreement of the multiple techniques employed.
