Disclosed herein are an apparatus and method for providing a customized traffic guidance service. The method may include acquiring data about one or more nearby objects, detecting surrounding traffic conditions based on the data about the nearby objects, determining whether to provide a customized traffic guidance service, selecting one or more target objects to which the customized traffic guidance service is to be provided and guidance information to be provided to each of the target objects, generating a customized traffic guidance message for the selected guidance information, and transmitting the customized traffic guidance message to the corresponding target object.

A method for operating an automated vehicle includes controlling by one or more computing devices an autonomous vehicle; receiving by one or more computing devices sensor data from the vehicle corresponding to moving objects in a vicinity of the vehicle; receiving by one or more computing devices road condition data; and determining by one or more computing devices undesirable locations related to the moving objects. The undesirable locations related to the moving objects for the vehicle are based at least in part on the road condition data. The step of controlling the vehicle includes avoiding the undesirable locations.

A system and method for estimating and communicating a path of travel of a reference vehicle by road side equipment (RSE) that includes establishing communication between the RSE and an on-board equipment of the reference vehicle and receiving vehicle parameters of the reference vehicle from the on-board of the reference vehicle. The system and method also include estimating the path of travel of the reference vehicle based on the vehicle parameters of the reference vehicle and environmental parameters determined by the RSE. The system and method further include establishing communication between the RSE and an on-board equipment of a target vehicle and communicating the estimated path of travel of the reference vehicle from the RSE to the target vehicle, wherein a probability of collision between the reference vehicle and the target vehicle is determined based on the estimated path of travel of the reference vehicle.

The method for a transportation vehicle and for updating an environmental model of the transportation vehicle includes obtaining an environmental model of the transportation vehicle, the environmental model having static and dynamic objects in the environment of the transportation vehicle along at least a part of the trajectory of the transportation vehicle; assigning information related to correctness probabilities at least to dynamic objects of the environmental model; determining at least one dynamic object for which the information related to the correctness probability indicates a correctness probability below a threshold; and transmitting a broadcast message to the environment to request further information on the at least one dynamic object.

A vehicle is provided to automatically move according to a movement request received from a surrounding vehicle already parked when the vehicle is parked around the surrounding parked vehicle. The vehicle includes a communication unit and a sensor sensing an external surrounding. A steering device steers the vehicle wheels and a power device transmits power to the wheels. In response to receiving vehicle identification information and movement request from the surrounding parked vehicle through the communication unit, a controller determines whether the surrounding vehicle has an authority for the movement request based on the external surrounding and the vehicle identification information. The power device and the steering device are operated based on the movement request when the surrounding parked vehicle has the authority.
VEHICLE MANEUVER INFORMATION EXCHANGE WITH TEMPORAL WINDOW
A user equipment (UE) in a vehicle, or a road side unit, may broadcast an inter-vehicle message for a driving maneuver to be executed by the vehicle. The inter-vehicle message may be a coordinated driving maneuver request requiring acceptance from another vehicle or an informational message for the intended driving maneuver. The inter-vehicle message includes a temporal execution window defining a range of time during which the driving maneuver will be initiated. A temporal window defining a range of time during which the driving maneuver will be completed may also be included. A spatial window defining a range of distance for a start and/or stop location for the driving maneuver may also be completed. The vehicle may execute the driving maneuver within the temporal execution window, e.g., if a driving maneuver response is received before the expiration of the temporal execution window, and will otherwise cancel the driving maneuver.

An anomaly handling method using a roadside device is disclosed. The method includes receiving, from a vehicle, an anomaly detection notification, which includes level information indicating a level affecting safety, and a location of the vehicle. The method also includes obtaining a location of the roadside device and determining whether a distance between the location of the vehicle and the location of the roadside device is within a predetermined range. When the distance is within the predetermined range and is shorter than a first predetermined distance, not changing the level information and transmitting the received anomaly detection notification externally from the one vehicle. When the distance is within the predetermined range and is longer than or equal to the first predetermined distance, changing to decrement a level indicated by the level information, and transmitting changed anomaly detection notification externally from the one vehicle.
