The mounting assembly also comprises an ostomy pouch comprising a proximal sheet having an aperture, a distal sheet, and a pouch ring attached to the proximal sheet, surrounding the aperture, the pouch ring comprising an adhesive coating thereon and third and fourth loops extending radially therefrom. The body flange and ostomy pouch are configured for the third and fourth loops to engage within the pocket of the first and second loops, respectively, the pouch ring to fit around the flange ring, and the rim of the flexible plastic member to contact the adhesive coating on the pouch ring. The adhesive skin barrier member has a multi-petaled outer perimeter.
MULTI-PETALED MOUNTING MEMBERS FOR OSTOMY POUCHES
A multi-petaled mounting member for an ostomy pouch is disclosed. The mounting member comprises a flexible plastic member comprising a central body portion, a surrounding rim, and an outer perimeter, a first double-sided adhesive substrate member comprising a first face, an opposite second face, and an outer perimeter, a second double-sided adhesive substrate member comprising a first face, an opposite second face, and a multi-petaled outer perimeter, and an adhesive skin barrier member comprising a first face, an opposite second face, and a multi-petaled outer perimeter. The perimeters of the first member and the adhesive skin barrier member substantially correspond in size and shape to the perimeters of the flexible plastic member and the second member, respectively. The perimeter of the second member has a size greater than the perimeter of the flexible plastic 46 member and a shape corresponding to 2 to 8 petals extending radially from the second member.
SOFT CONVEX OSTOMY APPLIANCE
A convex ostomy appliance may be configured to have a softness of about 32.6 N*mm to about 68.9 N*mm and a flexibility of about 105.2 N*mm to about 186.6 N*mm. The convex ostomy appliance may include a coupling flange, a floating flange film having one end secured to the coupling flange, a soft convex insert having a recess in which another end of the floating flange film is secured, an adhesive extending over the soft convex insert, and a stoma opening extending through at least the coupling flange, the floating flange film and the soft convex insert.
Soft convex ostomy appliance
A convex ostomy appliance (10) may be configured to have a softness of about 32.6 N*mm to about 68.9 N*mm, wherein the softness is measured in energy expended to compress 3 mm of the convex portion, and a flexibility of about 105.2 N*mm to about 186.6 N*mm, wherein the flexibility is measured in energy expended to deform the ostomy appliance by 30%. The convex ostomy appliance may include a coupling flange (22), a floating flange film (24) having one end secured to the coupling flange, a soft convex insert (26) having a recess (46) in which another end of the floating flange film is secured, an adhesive (28) extending over the soft convex insert, and a stoma opening (18) extending through at least the coupling flange, the floating flange film and the soft convex insert.
ADAPTABLE OSTOMY BASE PLATE
Disclosed is an adaptable ostomy base plate comprising a flexible top film (1), at least one elastic adhesive disposed on the top film and at least one release liner, the base plate having at least a first convex section that can be inverted to a concave section to be used for especially demanding skin surface conditions, such as in ostomists suffering from hernia.
Flow control and collection device
A flow control and collection system includes a flow control device having a tubular member in which an inflatable balloon is positioned about the circumference of the interior side wall for closing the passageway to movement of matter and liquid when the balloon is expanded and allowing flow when the balloon is contracted against the side wall to which it is attached. The flow control device includes an adapter at the outer end of the tubular member having one or more interlocking features. A waste collection bag has a sealed body with at least one opening and a flow control device adapter at the opening having one or more counterpoising interlocking features to removably lock the adapters together and passes waste material and liquid through the flow control device into the waste collection bag.
