SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING SIMULATED VEHICLES WITH CONFIGURED BEHAVIORS FOR ANALYZING AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE MOTION PLANNERS
A system and method for generating simulated vehicles with configured behaviors for analyzing autonomous vehicle motion planners are disclosed. A particular embodiment includes: receiving perception data from a plurality of perception data sensors; obtaining configuration instructions and data including pre-defined parameters and executables defining a specific driving behavior for each of a plurality of simulated dynamic vehicles; generating a target position and target speed for each of the plurality of simulated dynamic vehicles, the generated target positions and target speeds being based on the perception data and the configuration instructions and data; and generating a plurality of trajectories and acceleration profiles to transition each of the plurality of simulated dynamic vehicles from a current position and speed to the corresponding target position and target speed.
Assessing a training activity performed by a user in an interactive computer simulation
An interactive computer-based training system, station and method for assessing a training activity performed by a user interacting with tangible instruments for controlling the virtual element in an interactive computer simulation. A processor module obtains a plurality of performance metric datasets related to the virtual element and obtains a plurality of expected maneuvers of the virtual element during the training activity. The processor module computes the plurality of performance metric datasets to identify actual maneuvers of the virtual element during the training activity, identifies one or more failed actual maneuvers of the virtual element during the training activity against corresponding ones of the expected maneuvers and performs computational regression on the actual maneuvers of the virtual element compared to the expected maneuvers of the virtual element to identify one or more root causes of the failed actual maneuvers.
Assessing a training activity performed by a user in an interactive computer simulation
An interactive computer-based training system, station and method for assessing a training activity performed by a user interacting with tangible instruments for controlling the virtual element in an interactive computer simulation. A processor module obtains a plurality of performance metric datasets related to the virtual element and obtains a plurality of expected maneuvers of the virtual element during the training activity. A vehicle remote instruction training device that trains a remote commander who issues a remote instruction to an actual autonomous vehicle includes: a commander interface including an information output unit that shows a situation of the actual autonomous vehicle to the remote commander and an instruction input unit for the remote commander to input the remote instruction to the actual autonomous vehicle; a virtual situation display unit that shows a virtual situation of a virtual vehicle with time variation to a remote commander who is a trainee through the information output unit; a remote instruction input recognition unit that recognizes an input of the remote instruction input into the instruction input unit; and an evaluation unit that evaluates the remote commander based on timing at which they issue the remote instruction with respect to the virtual situation of the virtual vehicle or on a content of the remote instruction.
