AN OSTOMY APPLIANCE AND A COUPLING THEREFORE
The disclosure relates to an ostomy appliance comprising: a first ring-shaped coupling part; a second ring-shaped coupling part; and a collecting bag in connection with the second coupling part. The first coupling part comprises an axial upright forming a ring collar. The second coupling part comprising an axial lock flange, an axial seal-supporting flange forming an inner seal-supporting surface, and a bulge sealing extending radially inward from the seal-supporting surface. The first coupling part and second coupling part are adapted to be detachably attached to each other in a coupled configuration such that the bulge sealing is positioned against the ring collar to provide a seal between the first and second coupling parts. The disclosure further relates to a coupling, a ring-shaped coupling part, a method for manufacturing a ring-shaped coupling part, and a method for attaching a collecting bag to a base plate of an ostomy appliance.
Ostomy apparatuses and methods of use
Ostomy apparatuses and methods of use are disclosed herein. An example apparatus can include an ostomy interface configured to be inserted into a stoma of a patient, the ostomy interface being shaped so as to prevent disassociation of the ostomy interface from the stoma, the ostomy interface having an annular upper flange; and a securement interface that is configured to lockingly mate with the annular upper flange of the ostomy interface and couple an ostomy bag to the ostomy interface.
OSTOMY SYSTEM OPERABLE TO PREVENT LEAKAGE BETWEEN A USER AND AN OSTOMY DEVICE
An ostomy system includes a base plate, an electrode assembly configured to sense ostomy data, and a monitor device attachable to and detachable from the electrode assembly. The base plate has a coupling part formed as a socket and the monitor device has a coupling part provided as a monitor protrusion. When the monitor protrusion is inserted into the socket, a monitor terminal of the monitor protrusion electrically connects with a terminal of the socket to allow the monitor device to receive and transmit the ostomy data to a user.
OSTOMY APPLIANCE
An ostomy appliance comprising a barrier and a pouch which is adhered to the barrier. The barrier is made of a material comprising a top layer, a reinforcing layer, and an adherent layer. The top layer comprises a base material and upper and lower piles extending from opposite surfaces of said base material. The reinforcing layer being secured to said top layer by a first binder which will bond to said reinforcing layer. The adherent layer comprising a silicone gel which is bonded to said reinforcing layer by a second binder.
