Systems and methods for generating tactile 3D maps

A method for generating three dimensional indicators for the visually impaired. The method includes selecting one or more pre-designed symbols from a plurality of pre-designed symbols. The pre-designed symbols represent standard building layout features and are sized to be readable via a physical touch. The method further includes inserting the one or more selected symbols into a two dimensional digital layout, and generating one or more of an orientation object and a legend object into the two dimensional digital layout. The method further includes converting the two dimensional digital layout into a three dimensional digital model, and generating an output file including the three dimensional model in a format compatible with a three dimensional printing device.

A non-transitory computer readable medium containing instructions that when executed by a processor provides search results to client-side computing devices. The method of providing search results includes receiving information categorizing a plurality of websites; storing in at least one data structure the information categorizing the websites; receiving information indicating a level of accessibility for each of the websites; storing in the at least one data structure the information indicating the level of accessibility; receiving a search query from a particular client-side computing device; performing a look up in the data structure for websites associated with the search query; and presenting on the particular client-side computing device website search results, wherein the website search results include links to websites matching the search query and wherein the website search results are presented in a preferential manner that takes into account the level of accessibility of the websites.

Change data driven tactile response

Various examples described herein are directed to systems, methods, and computer-readable medium for providing a tactile response. A document that includes visual data is received. Change data for the visual data that indicates changes in data values of the visual data from a previous time is received. The visual data is rendered. An indication that a section of the document is selected is received. The section includes a first visual data. A change of the first visual data is determined front the change data. A tactile response unit is controlled to provide a tactile response based on the change of the first visual data.

Disclosed is a tablet with an improved Braille display. The Braille display employs a pin array that allows for the selective use of either six or eight pin cells. This is accomplished by turning off or on a pin pair adjacent to each cell. The spacing of the pins also allows capacitive sensors to be located adjacent to each Braille cell. These sensors are used to determine the location of the user’s finger upon the display. The pin spacing further allows geometric shapes to be generated in additional to text.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ALTERING DISPLAY PARAMETERS FOR USERS WITH COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT

A website code may be altered to conform with a screen reader profile. In one implementation, an indication of screen reader usage to navigate and consume website content on a specific device is obtained, and based on the indication, a predefined template to make multiple changes to the website code to conform with accessibility needs is implemented. The predefined template may include a identifying a plurality of elements corresponding to multiple objects displayed on the website, determining accessibility information for the multiple objects, and updating the website code based on the determined accessibility information. The implementation of the predefined template changes an audible presentation of the website via the screen reader on the specific device without impacting simultaneous display of the website content on other computing devices.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PERSONALIZING ACCESSIBILITY CHANGES ACROSS MULTIPLE BROWSING SESSIONS

Disability-related changes in website presentations may be made across multiple browsing sessions through the use of an accessibility profile selection request that differs from default display parameters. The method may include during a first website browsing session, receiving a web accessibility profile selection associated with a particular disability; based on the web accessibility profile selection, changing the default values for the display parameters to the disability profile values, causing the website to be accessible to a user with the particular disability; storing in memory in association with the user, the web accessibility profile selection; during a second website browsing session of the user, performing a lookup in the memory of the web accessibility profile selection of the user; and applying the web accessibility profile selection during the second website browsing session, causing the second website browsing session to be accessible to the user with the particular disability.

USING A WEB ACCESSIBILITY PROFILE TO INTRODUCE BUNDLE DISPLAY CHANGES

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media are disclosed for enabling users to alter website presentations based on selected web accessibility profiles. In one implementation, an accessibility graphical user interface (GUI) for a website is displayed. A selection of one of the plurality of web accessibility profiles included in the GUI is received. A first and second predefined adjustments to website display parameters associated with the selected web accessibility profile are identified and initiated. The initiation of the first change and the second change is configured to transform a presentation of the website to conform with needs of a user having the disability associated with the selected web accessibility profile.
