FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES HAVING A SUMP BETWEEN A TUBE OPENING AND A BARRIER, AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
20230255815 · 2023-08-17 ·

Examples relate to fluid collection devices, and related systems and methods. A fluid collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier, a fluid permeable body, a tube, and a sump. The fluid impermeable barrier has a distal end region and defines an opening and a chamber in fluid communication with the opening. The fluid permeable body is positioned within the chamber at least partially at the distal end region. The tube extends into the chamber and has an end positioned proximate to the distal end region of the fluid impermeable barrier. The tube includes a tube opening at least proximate to the end of the tube and oriented to face at least a portion of the fluid permeable body. The sump is positioned in the area between the tube opening and the distal end region.

The disclosure relates to a hygiene product, in particular a menstrual cup, having a cup body comprising a cup wall defining a receiving space using an inner surface, the cup body comprising on a first end an opening opening into the receiving space, the opening having an edge, and at a second end, a bottom opposite the opening, and the cup body comprising a generally conical shape, tapering towards the bottom and terminating in a tip. The hygiene product is characterized in that the cup body is rotationally asymmetric and a central axis of the cup body runs curved.

Apparatus and methods of using an intra-vaginal fluid collection device
11723789 · 2023-08-15 ·

Arrangements described herein relate to a device for collecting intravaginal fluid. The device is defined by a hollow collector and a flexible fluid collection bag, wherein the device is configured such that when inserted into the vagina, the hollow collector forms a seal with the inner walls of the vagina, while the fluid collection bag extends outside the body. By allowing fluid to collect outside the body rather than inside the, the device is permitted to be narrow in diameter (such as, for example, the diameter of a tampon), to increase user comfort. Flaps at the opening of the hollow collector may be used to seal fluid within the device when it is extracted from the body.
