FLUID COLLECTION ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING AT LEAST ONE OF A PROTRUSION OR AT LEAST ONE EXPANDABLE MATERIAL

An example female fluid collection assembly includes a fluid impermeable barrier. The fluid impermeable barrier at least defines a chamber and an opening. The female fluid collection assembly also includes at least one porous material disposed in the chamber. The porous material extends across the opening. In an embodiment, the portion of the porous material that extends across the opening include a protrusion that extends outwardly from the opening. In an embodiment, the porous material includes at least one expandable material that is configured to expand (e.g., increase in volume) when the expandable material exposed to one or more bodily fluids (e.g., urine).

Examples relate to fluid collection assemblies, systems, and methods for collecting fluid from a wearer of the fluid collection assembly. The fluid collection assemblies include a fluid collection device attachable to an adapter. The fluid collection device includes porous material disposed within a fluid impermeable barrier. The adapter includes an interfacing body having at least one orifice and at least one attachment feature for attaching the adapter to the fluid collection device such that the porous material is fluidly connected to the at least one orifice. A fluid collection system includes a fluid collection device operably coupled to a fluid storage container and vacuum source via one or more sections of conduit.

COLLAPSIBLE MENSES COLLECTING APPARATUS

A menses collecting apparatus includes a basin and a closure. The basin may transition between a collapsed or folded state prior to insertion by a user and an expanded or unfolded state after insertion by the user. The menses collecting apparatus may be collapsible/closed radially prior to insertion by the user, and may collect menses in the expanded state after insertion by the user. The closure may also transition between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The closure may be collapsible/folded when transitioning between the open configuration and the closed configuration. When the basin is in the expanded state, the closure may also be in an open configuration or the closed configuration. The menses collecting apparatus may employ a tension-based mechanism to transition between the different basin states and closure configurations. The menses collecting apparatus may be configurable to fit within an applicator to assist in the insertion of the menses collecting apparatus.

Reusable Dual Durometer Polymeric Menstrual Discharge Collection Device

A reusable menstrual discharge collection device is described comprising: dual durometer article that forms a menstrual discharge disc-shaped collection device with a half spherical dome catch where the half spherical dome catch includes a continuous circumferential top and bottom portion, and wherein the continuous top portion is attached to a continuous uniform flexible hinge that is placed along an entire circumferential uniform upper portion of the half spherical dome catch and wherein the hinge also forms a base for and is connected to a 360-degree continuous uniform circumferential rim section such that the hinge allows the half spherical dome catch to be in both an inverted use position/configuration that allows movement of the catch toward the rim section allowing for adjustability to fit multiple cervix physiologies and the elongated configuration allows for ease of manufacturing and cleaning.

Absorbent Hygienic Article Having an Integrated Drainage Mechanism
20230293339 · 2023-09-21 ·

The present disclosure provides a hygienic article comprising a multi-layered absorbent pad having a built-in drainage mechanism in the form of a plastic tube that is affixed between two layers of the pad. The portion of the tubing that rests in the pad has a plurality of inlets for capturing excess fluid that accumulates between the layers, funnelling it into the tubing. The other end of the tubing extends out and ends in a connector element that allows it to form a watertight seal with a suction apparatus such as an aspirator. Once the pad is soiled the pad may simply be exchanged for another one which is affixed to the end of the tubing with the fluid inlets.
