Security devices
A security device (1) comprising an optically transparent layer (3) including a repeating first array of separate optical focussing elements (3) (e.g. having translational symmetry) wherein a pitch distance between repeated elements in the first array is a first pitch value (A). The device also includes a repeating second array of separate image elements (6) (e.g. having translational symmetry) collectively defining an image viewable through the first part. The device is structured such that a pitch distance between repeated or successive elements in the second array is a second pitch value (B) wherein the ratio (A/B) of the first pitch value and the second pitch value has a value, A/B=n, that differs from a positive integer value, n, according to an absolute difference, , not exceeding 0.01 and not less than 0.001.
Hooked device for marking commercial articles
The invention concerns a device for marking a commercial article, comprising two separable parts: a first part (12) including an axial spike (14), a second part comprising an orifice for axial insertion of the spike and means for locking the spike inserted in said orifice. One of the parts, referred to as the attachment part, comprises an attachment: member (32) that is able to pivot between a first position in which a free end of the member is far away from the attachment part and a second position in which the free end is disposed in a housing (50) of the attachment part. The attachment part is configured so that the free end (32a) of the attachment member is blocked in the housing (50; 108) by the presence of the other part of the device that is locked to the attachment part by way of the spike (14) and its locking means.
Identification medium
An identification medium can be used in an opening label, clearly show signs of it having been opened, and also have a superior authenticity-confirming function. The identification medium has a structure including, in the following order as seen from the side of observation: an optical function layer that generates a color shift, a separation layer that is partially formed, a printed layer, and an adhesive layer, in which when an adhesive strength between the adhesive layer and an adherend is set to be Xa, an adhesive strength between the adhesive layer and the printed layer is set to be Xb, and an adhesive strength at a portion in which the separation layer is laminated between the optical function layer and the printed layer is set to be Xc, the adhesive strength of each part is set to satisfy Xa>Xb>Xc or Xb>Xa>Xc.
Color-changing sealant
A sealing element that utilizes cohesive peeling to visually indicate when a sealing element has been opened. The peel layer and bulk layer can be coupled together and contain coloring agents which are complementary colors that together make up a secondary color. Alternatively, the peel layer can be coupled to a first bulk layer and the first bulk layer coupled to a second bulk layer. The colors of the coloring agents applied to the peel layer and first bulk layer together do not make up a secondary color, and the colors of the coloring agents of the second bulk layer and the first bulk layer together do not make up a secondary color.
Deposition Process Based on Stencil Mask and Application to the Fabrication of Tags Supporting Multi-Functional Traceable Codes
A chemical gas phase deposition process comprises steps of providing a high vacuum chamber, and inside the high vacuum chamber: positioning a substrate surface; positioning a mask parallel to the substrate surface, whereby the mask comprises one or more openings; adjusting a gap of determined dimension between the substrate surface and the mask; and orienting a plurality of chemical precursor beams of at least one precursor species towards the mask with line of sight propagation, each of the plurality of chemical precursor beams being emitted from an independent punctual source, and molecules of the chemical precursor pass through the one or more mask openings to impinge onto the substrate surface for deposition thereon. At least a part of the chemical precursor molecules decompose on the substrate surface at a decomposition temperature. The process further comprises adjusting a temperature of the substrate surface greater or equal to the chemical precursor molecule decomposition temperature, thereby remaining greater than a mask temperature, and maintaining the mask temperature below the decomposition temperature, thereby causing a decomposition of the chemical precursor and a growth of a film on the substrate surface, but not on the mask; and heating the substrate surface using a heating device.
SECURITY SYSTEM WITH ANTI-TAMPERING SENSORS AND CYBERSECURITY
The disclosed embodiments include a method for tamper-proof protection of containers used for shipment of goods. The system contains a lock with electronic and mechanical components and a controller. A sensor is connected to a lock so that if forms a closed loop. The sensor can be an optical fiber or a distributed arrangement with an optical or an electrical shield. The electronics in the lock provide real time monitoring of the status of the lock. The lock cannot be opened or reproduced due to the signature of the closed loop which is stored in a remote server. Intrusions detected are relayed to an authorized recipient via a variety of communication channels. The data and control of the entire system is protected with several programs targeted to provide cybersecurity.
Tamper-Detection Device and Method to Detect Unauthorized Operations on Apparatus
A device and a method to detect unauthorized opening of a casing is disposed in the upper or lower casing of an apparatus. The device includes a base plate with vibrator, carrier, and sensor on the lower case, and receiving grooves. Balls of a lesser number than the number of receiving grooves are installed in the grooves in a predetermined arrangement by the manufacturer. A waveguide element and magnet, fixed on the upper casing, is in contact with the balls, and when the waveguide is vibrated, the number and locations of the balls govern the form of a setting signal derived therefrom at the factory. If the upper casing is separated from the lower casing, the waveguide element separates from the carrier, the magnetic element gathers the balls, the predetermined arrangement being thereby lost, when tested by an authorized repair engineer.
REUSABLE BOLT ELECTRONIC SEAL MODULE WITH GPS/CELLULAR PHONE COMMUNICATIONS & TRACKING SYSTEM
An electronic security bolt seal for locking a hasp includes an electronic module that has a circuit board disposed at an interior cavity of a housing. The housing includes apertures aligned with each other, such that a bolt is configured to be inserted through the apertures and through the interior cavity to engage the circuit board and complete an electronics circuit. When the bolt is inserted through the apertures of the housing, a locking device engages a tip region of the bolt that protrudes from the housing to secure the electronic module to the bolt. Responsive to a determination of breaking the electronics circuit, the circuit board is operable to generate a seal tamper signal. The locking element can be unlocked by a user to disengage the locking device from the bolt to permit the bolt to be removed from the electronic module and disengaged from the hasp.
CONTAINER TAMPER-PROOF PROTECTION BY USE OF PRINTED FIBER OPTICS MANUFACTURING AND INTEGRATED SENSORS
The disclosed embodiments provide a method for tamper-proof protection of containers used for shipment of goods. An optical fiber is embedded in an Optical Shield Wallpaper which lines all interior surfaces of any size of a shipping container, package, box, barrel or other shaped container. Wallpaper is manufactured using large scale rollers that press fibers with encapsulated adhesives onto an appropriate medium. Small medicine containers are protected with a fiber optic shield and sensors manufactured using ink jet printing techniques. Light is applied to the optical fiber and a measurement of optical fiber characteristics is performed. Digital signal processing is used to generate pedigree information, which may include items such as shipping location, serial numbers and lot numbers for the goods. The status of the autonomous anti-tampering system is monitored real-time for unauthorized intrusions. Intrusions detected are relayed to an authorized recipient via a variety of communication channels.
OPENING DETECTION TAG AND TAGGED CONTAINER
An opening detection tag is provided to be attached to a container having a sealing portion that seals an opening of the container. The opening detection tag includes a substrate, an electrode that is disposed on the sealing portion and includes a first electrode that is provided on a front surface side of the substrate and a second electrode that is provided on a back surface side of the substrate and faces the first electrode, an antenna unit that enables contactless communication with an external device, and an IC chip that is electrically connected to the electrode and the antenna unit and measures electrostatic capacitance formed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The IC chip performs contactless communication with the external device via the antenna unit and transmits, to the external device, the electrostatic capacitance measured by the IC chip.
