The flexible license plate optionally includes one or more holograms, and/or watermarks, and/or QR-codes. The flexible license plate is disposed on the backing, which extends beyond the perimeter of the flexible license plate, defining a marginal region. In some embodiments, plural indices are disposed in the marginal region to facilitate alignment of flexible license plate during installation thereof on a motor vehicle.

A plurality of identification indicia is positioned within a laminate formed by bonding of layers of the panel to identify an owner of the vehicle.

Additionally, the hinge mechanism is connected along a rear surface of the second mounting plate, allowing for relative rotation about a main axis of the hinge mechanism. The automatic pivoting mechanism is a motorized system used to rotate the second mounting plate about the hinge mechanism. Accordingly, the automatic pivoting mechanism is operatively coupled between the first mounting plate and the second mounting plate. Thus, activation of the automatic pivoting mechanism positions the mount into either a functional configuration or a collapsed configuration.

Digital license plate system with antitheft system

Digital license plates having a range of physical and digital antitheft features are disclosed. Disengagement of the digital license plate from the vehicle triggers at least one of a wireless theft communication signal and the internal theft status indicator. Input of security credentials can prevent triggering the internal theft status indicator and disablement of the digital license plate.
