The controller is configured to control the display element and the information displayed on the display surface. The photovoltaic element is a transparent solar cell extending across the entire display surface of the display element. The photovoltaic element is a first layer on the display element.
ENERGY HARVESTING DEVICE AND DISPLAY DEVICE
An energy harvesting device and a display device are provided. The energy harvesting device is configured to generate a power signal and the energy harvesting device includes a slot antenna. The slot antenna comprises a first section and a second section. The first section of the slot antenna is a linear shape and comprises an opening end, and the second section of the slot antenna is a bending shape and comprises a plurality of continuously bending corners.
SEMI-TRANSPARENT SIGN TEMPERATURE PROTECTION
A semi-transparent sign includes a reflective display, multiple layers and a control circuit. The reflective display may be semi-transparent, have a first side subject to a thermal load, have a second side opposite the first side, and configured to generate a plurality of visible images. A heat sink layer may be attached to the first side, be transparent, and configured to carry heat energy away from the reflective display. The thermal layer may be attached to the heat sink layer, be semi-transparent, and configured to reduce an intensity of the thermal load reaching the reflective display. The warming layer may be attached to the second side, be transparent, and configured to heat the reflective display in response to an electric current. The control circuit may be configured to control the electric current to the warming layer based on a temperature signal indicating a temperature of the semi-transparent sign.
VEHICULAR DISPLAY AND VEHICLE INCLUDING THE SAME
A vehicular display that ensures no cooped-up feeling is felt by an occupant providing limited visibility arranged on a transparent outer panel of a vehicle is an electronic paper that displays a video on a vehicle exterior. The electronic paper is provided with a plurality of hole portions to have a light transmission region through which a light is transmitted in the electronic paper. In a state where the electronic paper is viewed in a thickness direction, a hole occupancy as a ratio of an area of the plurality of hole portions to a whole area of the light transmission region falls within a range of 40% or more and 80% or less, and a maximum length that connects two points on a peripheral edge of each of the hole portions falls within a range of 0.5 mm or more and 8.0 mm or less.
Electronic shelf display tag and powered shelf support track system, apparatus and method of use
An electronic shelf display tag apparatus includes a programmable processor having a memory in communication with each of a display screen, and a wireless communication transceiver. The electronic shelf display tag apparatus further includes a power supply device configured to supply power to the processor, the display screen, the wireless communication transceiver, and an enclosure configured to encapsulate the processor, the display screen, the wireless communication transceiver, the audio playback device and the power supply device. The enclosure further including an electrical connector having at least one conductor in communication with the power supply device, at least one inclined stop configured to engage an interior edge of a channel of a shelf support track, and a support rib configured to engage an exterior edge of the channel of the shelf support track.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ANIMATION ON STRUCTURAL FEATURES USING ELECTRONIC INK
An entertainment imagery system including a structure that incorporates a display and a sensor that operates to detect activity. The display includes an electronic ink system that operates to provide animation on the display via transitioning electronic ink particles within the electronic ink system. A controller of the entertainment imagery system operates to control the electronic ink system to provide the animation in coordination with the activity detected by the sensor.
ELECTRONIC LICENSE PLATE FRAME FOR DISPLAYING STATIC AND NON-STATIC INFORMATION
Systems, apparatus and methods related to electronic vehicle registration and tag displays, specifically a vehicle license plate frame containing multiple low power e-paper type displays configured to replace the stickers used for vehicle registration and parking authorizations as well as provide indication of purchased parking increments and/or allow for display of advertisement or other messages. The system may also allow the display of driver or vehicle specific information such as the user's driver's license number or insurance at the request of a third party authorities such as the police. The system allows for use of a mobile computing device having software connected with the internet to access a server allowing for communication with various registrations authorities including the DMV, municipal parking authorities, and private parking authorities. Displays may be overwritten and changed depending on the location of the vehicle and need to provide display of certain authorizations.
Electronic tag and driving method thereof
An electronic tag including an electronic paper display, a driving circuit, and an energy harvesting device is provided. The electronic paper display is configured to display tag information. The driving circuit is coupled to the electronic paper display and includes a voltage detecting circuit. The energy harvesting device is coupled to the driving circuit and configured to generate a first power signal. The voltage detecting circuit is configured to receive the first power signal. When a voltage value of the first power signal is higher than a threshold voltage value, the voltage detecting circuit outputs the first output power signal so that the driving circuit enables the electronic paper display by the first output power signal. In addition, a driving method of the above electronic tag is also provided.
Method of converting a static display to a changing display
A method of converting a static display to a dynamic display includes providing a static display and removing a portion of the display to form a cutout area. A dynamic display sheet is positioned at the cutout area. The dynamic display sheet includes a first layer comprising a plurality of three-dimensional static programmable electrochromic (SPEC) particles; a second layer comprising a positively charged conductive sheet; a third layer comprising a negatively charged conductive sheet; a laminate layer; and a control element comprising a processor for activating the SPEC particles to switch from a first to a second colored state; wherein the second and third layers are respectively positioned on either side of the first layer, and the laminate layer encompasses the first, the second, and the third layers. The dynamic display sheet is activated to cause the SPEC particles to selectively flash between the first and second colored states.
Tactile and visual display with paired and active stylus with means and methods
An active, specialized stylus and sharp color graphics may be combined with a tactile display in order to increase accessibility to the blind and visually impaired. A tactile display may consist of an array of pins that may be raised to varying heights to represent contours and outlines of images that are recognizable when touched. A specialized stylus may allow the user to instantly create, touch and save tactile drawings or alter with multi-sensory feedback.
A tactile and visual display may consist of an array of pins, with circular or squared-off tops. Physical attributes may be given to individual pins, the screen itself (LED), or a LCD WXGA or other type of projector may be incorporated so that enhanced visual imaging is combined with tactile graphics to give those with different levels of visual impairment a multisensory feedback when experiencing images or drawings. Also this technology may be used with autistic students and those with learning disabilities, as well as serve as a means of entertainment.
