Disclosed is a three-dimensional advertisement device. The present invention includes: a frame having a predetermined shape; a plurality of unit cells supported by the frame and arrayed in an X-Y matrix; and a controller for selectively driving the unit cells according to an external input signal, wherein the unit cell includes: a cell plate having a magnet on a rear surface thereof and having an upper end hinge-coupled to the frame, the cell plate being vertically disposed; and an electromagnet arranged to face the magnet of the cell plate to enable the cell plate to rotate forward when power is applied thereto according to a signal of a controller. The cell plate of the unit cells includes a reflection plate such that advertisement text is three-dimensionally expressed through a combination of the cell plates which rotate to be opened.

Braille cells and assemblies for single-line braille displays

Braille cells and assemblies include an actuator that engages and makes readable a Braille dot by moving a shaft on a base to engage the dot. An electro-permanent magnet and a separate magnetic plate on the shaft can cause the rotation. By running an electric pulse through the electro-permanent magnet, it will rotate the shaft about a pivot under attraction to the magnetic plate. The shaft then engages tactile with the Braille dot to make it and potentially other dots form a Braille character. An electric pulse in an opposite direction may cause the magnetic field to cease and the tactile pin to disengage. The electro-permanent magnet may be coupled a mesh of rows and columns each with a P-channel MOSFET and N-channel MOSFET on opposite ends. The magnet may be at an intersection of a row and a column with diodes, which may be Zenner diodes.

Light modulator, substrate comprising electrodes and smart glazing

Some embodiments are directed to a light modulator comprising transparent or reflective substrates, multiple electrodes being applied to the substrates in a pattern across the substrate. A controller may apply an electric potential to the electrodes to obtain an electro-magnetic field between the electrodes providing electrophoretic movement of the particles towards or from an electrode.

Light stippling display device

A display device according to the present invention is a light stippling display device that performs light stippling. In the device, a plurality of hole portions are formed on a display plate portion including a magnetized sheet which is magnetized on both sides, and the hole portion is opened and closed by a light shielding body made of a magnetic ball. Thereby, the position of the light shielding body is switched between a light transmitting state and a light shielding state. The light shielding body has directivity for a center of the hole portion in the display plate portion which is magnetized on both sides in a case where the light shielding body is switched to the light shielding state. Therefore, the reliability of display can be improved, and the operability can be improved.

STRUCTURALLY COMPACT BACKLIT DISPLAY ASSEMBLY

A display assembly, having a base comprised of polymeric material, and having a front wall of at least one hundred square centimeters in area, and a rearward-extending base peripheral wall of at least 0.5 cm height. The front wall has raised regions and recessed regions that extend at least as far back as the peripheral wall at its furthest rearmost extent, so that when the base is placed against a flat surface the back of the recessed regions touches the flat surface. A polymeric cover is adapted to tension fit to the base, the polymeric cover including a generally transparent front wall. Translucent display media interposed between the base and the cover and a set of energy efficient lighting devices disposed in the recessed regions.
