INSERTER
The present invention relates to an inserter for an intrauterine system comprising a handle (3), and an insertion tube (6) having a first end and a second end, and being arranged in connection with the handle. The inserter is characterized in that the first end of the insertion tube (6) comprises at least one frame slot for receiving a frame of the intrauterine system. The invention also relates to a kit comprising an inserter according to the present invention and an intrauterine system, wherein the intrauterine system (1) comprises a therapeutic component (1b) and a continuous, closed frame (1a), the therapeutic component (1b) being connected to the frame (1a) at least one point, and therapeutic component (1b) of the intrauterine system (1) is at least mainly arranged inside the first end of the insertion tube (6) and the frame (1a) of the intrauterine system (1) is at least mainly arranged outside the first end of the insertion tube (6).
Intrauterine system
The present invention relates to novel intrauterine systems and to methods for manufacturing these systems. An intrauterine system according to the invention comprises a reservoir and a continuous, closed and flexible frame. The frame comprises a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer made of a polycarbonate diol, 1,6-hexamethylenediisocyanate, and a chain extender.
Intrauterine device with retrieval thread
An intrauterine contraceptive system may include a contraceptive intrauterine device, a retrieval thread permanently attached to the intrauterine device and an insertion device for inserting the intrauterine device into a uterus. The system may also include a release thread releasably coupled with the intrauterine device. The intrauterine device may be deployable out of a distal end of the insertion device and may be configured to change from a delivery configuration when housed in the insertion device to a deployed configuration when deployed in a uterus. The retrieval thread and the optional release thread may be at least partially housed within the insertion device during insertion of the intrauterine device into the uterus. The release thread may extend from the intrauterine device through the insertion device to an attachment point at or near a proximal end of the insertion device.
Intrauterine device
An intrauterine device for preventing egg fertilization having a membrane, a frame having a first arm and a second arm, the first and second arms movable from a first position to a second more expanded position. The frame supports the membrane to move the membrane between a first position to a second more expanded position, wherein the first and second arms are non-planar and each arm has a proximal portion, an intermediate portion and a distal portion, The first arm has a bend at the intermediate portion so that the intermediate portion of the first arm lies in a different plane than the proximal portion of the first arm and the second arm has a bend at the intermediate portion so the intermediate portion of the second arm lies in a different plane than the proximal portion of the second arm. An elongated tail portion extends proximally of the membrane. The membrane can have a convex distal portion.
Core sheath drug delivery devices
It relates to a device comprising (a) a core comprising polyurethane; (b) a sheath comprising ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, said sheath substantially or completely surrounding said core; and (c) one or more active pharmaceutical ingredients dissolved or dispersed in said core and/or said sheath; and to a process for its preparation.
NOVEL INTRA UTERINE DEVICE
The present invention discloses an Intra Uterine Ball (IUB) device useful for a gynecological procedure or treatment. The aforesaid device comprises a hollow sleeve for at least partial insertion into the uterine cavity; and, an elongate conformable member with at least a portion comprised of shape memory alloy. The elongate member is adapted to be pushed out from said sleeve within said uterine cavity. It is the core of the invention that the elongate member is adapted to conform into a predetermined three dimensional ball-like configuration within said uterine cavity following its emergence from said sleeve, such that expulsion from said uterine cavity, malposition in said uterine cavity, and perforation of the uterine walls is prevented.
INSERTER
The present invention relates to an inserter for an intrauterine system, comprising a handle (3) having a longitudinal opening (8) at its first end, said opening (8) having a longitudinal axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the inserter, a first end (8 a) and a second end (8 b), a movable slider (5) arranged in said longitudinal opening (8) and having a first end (5 a) and a second end (5 b), a plunger (2) attached to the handle (3) and having a longitudinal axis, and an insertion tube (6) having a first end, a second end and a longitudinal axis essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the plunger (2), the insertion tube (6) being, along said longitudinal axis, movably arranged around the plunger (2). The invention is characterised in that it further comprises a flange (4) arranged on the insertion tube (6) at its first end, and means for locking the slider (5) into a position showing the correct insertion depth for the intrauterine system, said means being adjustable with respect to the opening (8) of the handle.
Articulating speaker assembly providing for pivotal adjustment of connected first and second members
An articulating speaker assembly includes a first member including a first driver and a second member including second driver. The first member and the second member are pivotally connected for selectively changing the profile of the speaker assembly. A central housing member is pivotally connected to each of the first member and the second member, wherein the central housing member supports a third driver.
INTRA UTERINE DEVICE
Device positionable in the uterine cavity and method of treatment thereof
A delivery vehicle for a silver ion source such as silver nitrate and the like, suitable for use in the treatment of menorrhagia, comprises a plurality of beads bearing a tissue cauterizing amount of a silver ion source. In some embodiments, the silver ion source is silver nitrate, in combination with a binder of hydroxy propyl cellulose and a diluent of potassium nitrate. In some embodiments, the plurality of beads is useful in treating menorrhagia of a mammalian uterus. Silver ions are delivered in a sufficient amount to the endometrium to cause necrosis of the endometrial tissue.
