VEHICULAR LIGHT BAR AND LUMINESCENT PLANAR SHEET COMBINATION
20170240099 · 2017-08-24 ·

A vehicle lighting system is provided primarily for use with emergency response vehicles. The lighting system preferably includes a planar plate mounted to one of the horizontal surfaces of a vehicle. A luminescent planar sheet is constructed to provide illuminated alphanumeric characters affixed upon the planar plate so as to illuminate upwardly so as to be seen from the air. Preferably the luminescent planar sheet can selectively produce visible light, or infrared light, or both. The vehicle lighting system also includes a light bar affixed to the planar plate. The light bar is positioned to illuminate primarily horizontally so as to be seen by those on the ground. Preferably, the luminescent planar sheets are connected by wiring to the light bar so that luminescent planar sheet obtains power from the light bar.

Aircraft interior light unit and method of operating an aircraft interior light unit

An aircraft interior light unit having a light output over an extended light emission area includes a flat light distribution body having a front surface, through which the light output is coupled out, and a back surface, wherein at least one of the front surface and the back surface of the flat light distribution body has a plurality of surface irregularities.

A luminescent planar sheet is constructed to provide illuminated alphanumeric characters particularly suitable for mounting upon the planar surfaces of a vehicle. Preferably the luminescent planar sheet can produce visible light, infrared light, or both. A switching system is connected to the luminescent planar panels for selectively controlling power to produce visible light and/or infrared light. The luminescent planar sheet includes a protective coating which permits the passage of both visible light and infrared light, but substantially blocks most or all ultraviolet light.

Preferably the luminescent planar sheet can selectively produce visible light, or light invisible to the human eye. Where the planar luminescent panel produces heat to create non-visible infrared indicia, it is preferred that the planar luminescent sheet include an insulator layer positioned under the infrared producing layer so as to prevent heat from dissipating into the vehicle's metal surface.

In one embodiment, the support assembly for holding the display panel in the vehicle includes a first strap and a first hinge. The first hinge includes: a first flap having a first hole; a pivot; and a second flap having a second hole and a third hole. The first strap includes a fourth hole and a fifth hole located at a hinge end of the strap, and a sixth hole located at a cross beam end of the strap.

ILLUMINATED BADGE FOR A VEHICLE

A badge is provided herein. The badge includes a viewable portion having indicia thereon. A plurality of first LED sources is configured to emit light toward the viewable portion. A light guide extends between the viewable portion and the first LED sources. A plurality of second LED sources is configured to emit light toward the viewable portion. The first LED sources illuminate a first region of the viewable portion and the second LED sources illuminate a second region of the viewable portion.

Methods and apparatus to generate loading dock visual indicators

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed herein. An example method disclosed herein includes determining a state of a device of a loading dock and, based on the state, generating via a display a first directional indicator having a first orientation and a first color. The first orientation and the first color are to cooperate to indicate first directional information.
