AN INTRAUTERINE DEVICE WITH A RESTRICTED MOVEMENT OF A STRING KNOT
20170231809 · 2017-08-17 · ·

An intrauterine device (20) with a restricted movement of a knot (5) of the string (4) due to a region (3) having such differed shape and size at a distal end (12) of central vertical stem (1) and due to a trajectory for string (4) in the region (3) that the length of the string (S) is shorter than the distance (r) of the region (3); and the loop (15) of the string and therefore the knot (5) is unable to pivot around the axis (14). The lateral shift of the knot (5) is also prevented. Consequent to restricted pivoting and restricted lateral shift of the knot (5), the hanging portion (9) of the string (4) continue to project downwards and do NOT develop tendency to get retracted and thus do not curl up in the uterus (16) through the cervix (17).

INSERTER

The invention relates to an inserter for an intrauterine system, comprising a handle (3) having a longitudinal opening (8) at its first end, said opening (8) having a longitudinal axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the inserter, a first end (8a) and a second end (8b), a moveable slider (5) arranged in said longitudinal opening (8) and having a first end (5a) and a second end (5b), a plunger (2) attached to the handle (3), an insertion tube (6) arranged around the plunder (2) having a first end and a second end, with its second end attached to the slider (5), wherein the inserter further comprises locking means for reversibly locking the intrauterine system in relation to the plunder (2) via a removal string of the intrauterine system, said locking means being controllable by the slider (5) and/or the insertion tube (6).

Interference-relief type delivery detachment systems

Various features are described that are adapted to improve performance of interference-relief type delivery systems. A delivery system provided herein comprises an implant comprising a socket at a proximal end of the implant; an elongate sleeve having (i) a proximal section, (ii) a distal section slidably disposed within the socket, and (iii) a window between the proximal section and the distal section, the window extending through a wall of the sleeve; and a core member having a proximal portion slidably received within the proximal section of the sleeve and a distal portion extending through the window to a space outside the sleeve and within the socket. The distal portion of the core member provides an interference fit with the distal section of the sleeve within the socket until the core member is withdrawn.

INTRAUTERINE DEVICE

An intrauterine device for preventing egg fertilization having a membrane, a frame having a first arm and a second arm, the first and second arms movable from a first position to a second more expanded position. The frame supports the membrane to move the membrane between a first position to a second more expanded position, wherein the first and second arms are non-planar and each arm has a proximal portion, an intermediate portion and a distal portion, The first arm has a bend at the intermediate portion so that the intermediate portion of the first arm lies in a different plane than the proximal portion of the first arm and the second arm has a bend at the intermediate portion so the intermediate portion of the second arm lies in a different plane than the proximal portion of the second arm. An elongated tail portion extends proximally of the membrane. The membrane can have a convex distal portion.
