A cosmetic pad, having a top layer constructed of non-woven material, a bottom layer constructed in a manner to allow for ventilation through the bottom layer, and at least one heating element between the top layer and the bottom layer and methods for using the cosmetic pad and cosmetic agents therein are provided. A system for applying a cosmetic agent to a subject's skin, hair, hands, feet or face is also provided.

A sleep mask is created comprising a sleep mask cover that can accommodate a weighted mask component and a thermal mask component. The sleep mask cover may include a fastening mechanism at the opening which may be removably engaged or disengaged to disable or enable, respectively, access to the opening for insertion of the weighted mask component and the thermal mask component. The weighted mask component may include a set of eye panels that are devoid of weight material to prevent unwanted pressure on a human user's eyes when the sleep mask is worn around the head of a human user. Aspects of the technology can include cooling a surface of a patient's skin and detecting changes in the tissue. The tissue can be cooled a sufficient length of time and to a temperature low enough to affect glands or other targeted structures in the skin.

The present invention relates to a mask-shaped skin treatment device and system. The device comprises one or more coupling agent detectors configured to detect presence of coupling agent on one or more skin portions of a user and one or more heating elements configured to cause local heating of one or more skin portions of the user. The one or more heating elements are configured to cause heat selectively based on the presence of coupling agent measured by the one or more coupling agent detectors.

A heating/cooling therapy treatment pad system incorporates a plurality of therapy pads that can be coupled together by connectors and attachments to form an integrated therapy pad assembly. The thermal pads have pouches for receiving thermal inserts that may be heated or chilled. The thermal inserts may be cylindrical in shape and there may be thermal insert gaps, or spaces between the pouches to enable better conformability of the therapy pad to a person's body, such as around the neck. A device and method is provided for treating a person by providing controlled stimulation of a branch of the trigeminal nerve of the person to induce a dive reflex response in the person. A device for providing this treatment includes a stimulus component controllably operable to stimulate a branch of the trigeminal nerve of a person. The stimulus component can be a Peltier device configured to reduce the temperature of the person's face in proximity to a branch of the trigeminal nerve to induce the dive reflex. A controller controls activation of the stimulus component when it is desirable to induce the dive reflex response in the person. The controller can sense physiological and ambient conditions and can activate and deactivate the stimulus component in response to a condition falling within or outside a threshold value.

Treatments can include cooling a surface of a patient's skin and detecting at least one freeze event in the cooled skin. The treatment system can continue cooling the patient's skin after the freeze event(s) are detected so to maintain at least a partially frozen state of the tissue for a period of time.
