An image display method using an image display device is provided. The method includes performing a first operation to cause light to be emitted from light-emitting regions of a backlight at respective intensity in accordance with frame image data, sequentially with respect to each of first areas of the backlight, and performing a second operation to apply voltages to pixels of a liquid crystal panel at respective levels in accordance with the frame image data, sequentially with respect to each of second areas of the liquid crystal panel. Light-emitting regions in each of the first areas are repeatedly turned on and off a plurality of times during the first operation thereof.

Disclosed are methods for compensating colors based on virtual chromaticity coordinate points and the related display devices. The present disclosure provides an electronic device. The electronic device comprises: a display comprising an array of pixels and a control circuit electrically connected to the display. Pixels in the array comprise a plurality of first sub-pixels defining a first color area on a chromaticity plane, a plurality of second sub-pixels defining a second color area on the chromaticity plane, and a plurality of third sub-pixels defining a third color area on the chromaticity plane. The control circuit is configured to receive an input image signal and generate a control signal to the display for driving each pixel of the display to output light in a virtual color gamut. The virtual color gamut of the display is among the first, second and third color areas on the chromaticity plane and does not overlap any of the first, second or third color areas.
Device for displaying images comprising two modulation stages
Device comprising: a rear panel comprising a network of backlighting elements, a front panel comprising a network of optical valves which are each capable of modulating the brightness of a single primary colour. By the modulation of chrominance which is added to the modulation of luminance for the backlighting elements of the rear panel, the device according to the invention makes it possible to display the images with even more contrast and better quality. A specific control mode makes it possible to avoid the colour “interferences”.
Backlight driver, backlight device including the same, and operating method of the backlight device
A backlight device includes LED elements divided into dimming groups; a panel driver configured to output a reference current for driving the LED elements; and pixel circuits, each of which is connected to the panel driver through a common line and is respectively configured to drive first LED elements comprised in a corresponding dimming group. Each of the pixel circuits is configured to: in a first period of a frame period, obtain a reference voltage based on the reference current and store the reference voltage, in a second period of the frame period, obtain luminance data of an image displayed by the corresponding dimming group, and in a third period of the frame period, drive the first LED elements during a light emitting time corresponding to the luminance data obtained in the second period using the reference voltage stored in the first period.
Content-adaptive duty ratio control
Example devices may include a display (such as an emissive display), and a controller, where the controller is configured to determine an image content parameter for a displayed image shown on the display, and adjust a duty ratio of the display based on the image content parameter. The duty ratio may be dynamically adjusted based on, for example, an image content parameter that may be related to the brightness of the image, or a portion thereof. The controller may be configured to determine an image content parameter for each of one or more portions of a displayed image, and adjust a duty ratio for corresponding parts of the display based on the image content parameter associated with the respective one or more portions of the displayed image.
DISPLAY DEVICE DRIVING METHOD AND DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device driving method and the display device are provided. The display device driving method determines a driving voltage value of each backlight unit based on a content to be displayed by a display unit corresponding to each backlight unit, achieving dynamic adjustment of luminous brightness of the backlight unit according to the display content of the corresponding display unit. Meanwhile, the driving voltage value is related to a noise in an image. Therefore, a better backlight brightness value can be obtained by reducing an influence of the noise on the adjustment of the luminous brightness.

The present disclosure relates to a device and a method for processing image data for driving a display panel. More particularly, it relates to a device and a method to vary the brightness of each pixel according to a representative brightness value of an image.
METHOD FOR DIMMING AND DISPLAY DEVICE
A method for dimming is adapted for a display device. The method for dimming includes the steps of: obtaining a plurality of first area peak luminance of a plurality of areas of a panel and a backlight plate of the display device; averaging the plurality of first area peak luminance to obtain an overall peak luminance value; looking the overall peak luminance value up in a lookup table to obtain a luminance adjustment value; and adjusting the plurality of first area peak luminance of the plurality of areas into a plurality of second area peak luminance. The plurality of first area peak luminance are a same with or are different from the plurality of second area peak luminance.
