ELECTRONIC HEATING/COOLING GARMENT AND ELECTRONIC HEATING/COOLING DEVICE ATTACHABLE TO/DETACHABLE FROM GARMENT
An electronic heating/cooling garment includes: a neck part, a collar (neckband), or an underarm part where a Peltier device (31) is placed; and a front body or a back body where a heating medium circulation path (35) and a battery (35) are placed, the battery (35) being configured to supply electric power to a pump (341) and the Peltier device (31). The heating medium circulation path (35) is composed of a flexible thermally conductive material having a tubular shape and holds a heating medium therein in an airtight manner. The heating medium circulation path has a first electrode and a second electrode on its outer surface. The first and second electrodes are configured to supply the electric power from the battery (35) to the Peltier device (31) and the pump (341).
Cooling or heating neckband
The cooling and heating neckband is adapted for use with a person. The person is further defined with a head and a neck. The cooling and heating neckband is worn by the person. The cooling and heating neckband transfers heat to and from the person to make the person more comfortable. The cooling and heating neckband comprises a heat transfer structure, a foam layer, and a covering structure. The heat transfer structure is an apparatus that transfers heat to and from the person during physical activity. The foam layer is a cushion that covers the heat transfer structure. The covering structure is a textile-based structure. The heat transfer structure and the foam layer are inserted in the covering structure. The covering structure attaches the cooling and heating neckband to the person.
Portable hypo/hyperthermia unit
A portable heating/cooling device for clinical hypo/hyperthermia with cuffs especially designed for arterial cooling/heating for raising or lowering the body temperature of a patient is operable by battery power or a wide range of available external power, and is usable in the field or in medical transport where such external power sources are not available. The small size, weight, and robust nature of the device allows it to be transported with the patient without the need for additional conveying devices.
Animal cooling kit
The combined members potentiate the autonomic, thermoregulation of an animal such as a horse. An absorbent wrap cools an animal by removing its extra heat during extreme physical and environmental conditions. The wrap member is submerged in water, excess moisture removed, then placed in a sealed, insulated cooler lined with frozen icepacks where the components stay cold until use. The wrap is removed from the cooler and seen in one embodiment fitted around the neck of an animal and held in place by fasteners. Temperature remediation occurs through a countercurrent exchange where incoming and outgoing elements touch to remove heat. The cooling wrap increases an animal's physiological mechanisms by working with their vascular structures and respiratory tract during selective brain cooling (SBC). The animal while stationary or under movement is cooled through the processes of conductive, evaporative and circulatory cooling.
Brace with Removable Aromatherapy Pouch
A brace for treating a portion of a human body, the brace including a brace body including at least one fastener adapted for fastening the brace about the portion of the human body, and an aromatherapy heat-treatment pack removably attachable to the brace body, the aromatherapy heat-treatment pack containing at least one temperature maintaining component and at least one aromatherapeutic component, wherein the aromatherapy heat-treatment pack is adapted to maintain a temperature thereof for a predetermined treatment duration.
Thermoregulation Devices and Methods
Methods and systems for thermoregulation of injured tissue, medical specimens and other perishable materials are disclosed. Thermoregulation systems can comprise a thermoelectric device comprising a thermoelectric element within a flexible sleeve such that the sleeve can be applied circumferentially within an orthopedic positioner. Methods for shipping medical specimens under precise temperature control are disclosed by actively regulating the temperature within containers and at the surface of the specimen. Methods for treating injured tissue that demonstrate increased precision and control are disclosed.
TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT ADHESION BETWEEN APPLICATOR AND SKIN DURING COOLING OF TISSUE
A method and apparatus in accordance with a particular embodiment of the present invention includes applying adhesive onto skin of a human subject. An applicator is then brought into contact with the adhesive such the adhesive is disposed between the applicator and the subject's skin. The applicator is activated to cool a tissue region via the subject's skin, via the heat-transfer surface of the applicator, and via the adhesive. While the tissue region cools, the adhesive also cools, thereby reversibly strengthening adhesion between the subject's skin and the heat-transfer surface and forming a strong bond therebetween. The strengthened adhesion inhibits any movement of the applicator relative to the skin. After cooling the tissue region, the adhesive is warmed, thereby weakening the adhesion which allows the heat-transfer surface of the applicator to be easily separated from the skin.
