Display device and electronic device
A display device disclosed includes a liquid crystal panel (6), and an image optimization circuit (4) for switching, in accordance with an update frequency of image data, between (i) a first mode in which a liquid crystal driver (7) is driven at a first driving frequency and (ii) a second mode in which the liquid crystal driver (7) is driven at a second driving frequency lower than the first driving frequency. The display device can therefore be used even in a case where a transmission path for image data is limited and optimally display high-resolution image data with reduced electric power consumption.
Dynamic frame repetition in a variable refresh rate system
A method, computer program product, and system for adjusting a dynamic refresh frequency of a display device are disclosed. The method includes the steps of obtaining a current frame duration associated with a first image, computing, based on the current frame duration, a repetition value for a second image, and repeating presentation of the second image on a display device based on the repetition value. The logic for implementing the method may be included in a graphics processing unit or within the display device itself.
Display apparatus and computer system
A display apparatus for displaying a display information includes a display panel, and a plurality of gate drivers and a plurality of source drivers coupled to the display panel. When one abnormal driver exists among the plurality of gate drivers and the plurality of source drivers, the other functionally operating gate drivers and source drivers transform the display information into a transformed display information to transmit the transformed display information to the display panel for a display operation.
Image resolution processing method, system, and apparatus, storage medium, and device
An image resolution processing method includes: obtaining motion information of a display apparatus; determining a motion direction and rate information of the display apparatus according to the motion information; determining, according to the motion direction, a target object that is at least one of a horizontal resolution and a vertical resolution; determining a target value according to the rate information and a standard resolution of the display apparatus; and generating a to-be-displayed image, a value of the target object in an image resolution of the to-be-displayed image being equal to the target value.
Image processing device, image processing method, and image display system
An image processing device includes a memory that stores a program and a processor that executes the program stored in the memory to perform a process. The process includes obtaining input image data that is generated by combining, in a horizontal direction, an effective display area of first image data and an effective display area obtained by expanding an effective display area of second image data in the vertical direction, the vertical size of the second image data being smaller than the vertical size of the first image data; and generating second output image data corresponding to the second image data by reducing the vertical size of second intermediate image data among first intermediate image data and the second intermediate image data, which are obtained by dividing the input image data in the horizontal direction, based on the vertical size of the effective display area of the second image data.
FOVEALLY-RENDERED DISPLAY
A display system includes a display panel having an input to receive pixel data, the pixel data comprising a plurality of pixel values, an array of pixels partitioned into a foveal region and at least one peripheral region, and an array controller to group pixels in the at least one peripheral region into subsets of at least two pixels and to control each subset using a corresponding single pixel value from the plurality of pixel values. The display system further may include a rendering system to foveally render a display image based on the locations of the foveal region and the at least one peripheral regions, wherein for each row of the display image having pixels within at least one of the peripheral region, a number of pixel values represented in the pixel data for the row is less than a number of pixels in the row.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR EXTENDING TIME INTERVAL DURING WHICH UPSCALING IS PERFORMED ON BASIS OF HORIZONTAL SYNCHRONIZATION SIGNAL
An electronic device according to various embodiments may include a display panel, a Display Driving Integrated Circuit (DDIC) operatively coupled to the display panel, and a processor operatively coupled to the DDIC. The DDIC may be configured to receive, from the processor, a signal indicating that a first resolution is to be converted to a second resolution while displaying an image at the first resolution through the display panel, based on a horizontal synchronization signal including a first porch interval, change a length of the porch interval in response to the reception, and display the image at the second resolution through the display panel, based on the horizontal synchronization signal including the porch interval having the changed length.
Generating and displaying an actual sized interactive object
Methods and systems generate and project an actual sized image of an object. An object or a representation of an object may be pre-processed. The pre-processing of a representation of the object may include determining pixels that belong to the object and pixels that belong to a background of the image. The pre-processing may include calculating a bounding box for the object. The projection may include determining an area of projection suitable for the bounding box of the object. The projection may further include projecting an image of intermediate dimensions. The projection may further include up-sampling or down-sampling the image to an actual size. The projection of the actual sized image may be made interactive by rendering at least one additional view of the object.
