Disclosed is a display device. The display device includes: a substrate on which a sub-pixel including a transmissive part and a light emitting part is disposed; a transistor disposed on the substrate; and an organic light emitting diode connected to the transistor. The transmissive part includes a repair part in which an anode electrode of the organic light emitting diode is connected through a contact hole to an extension line extending from an electrode of the transistor.

A method of supporting divided screen areas and a mobile terminal employing the same are disclosed. The method includes: generating input signals for one of sequentially and simultaneously activating a plurality of user functions; activating the user functions according to generated input signals; dividing a screen into divided screen areas that correspond to activated user functions; and outputting functional view areas associated with the activated user functions to the corresponding divided screen areas.

An image generating apparatus 10 acquires information associated with a motion of a head of a user wearing a head-mounted display 100. For a period of time for which the head is stopped, the image generating apparatus 10 generates a display image 70 with a standard resolution, and transmits the display image 70 to the head-mounted display 100, so that display images 71 having the same resolution are displayed. For a period of time for which the head is moved, the image generating apparatus 10 generates display images 72 each having the reduced resolution, and the head-mounted display 100 generates display images 73 obtained by enlarging the display images 72.

Techniques for implementing and/or operating an electronic device that includes a display panel, which displays an image and includes a first panel section implemented with a lower pixel resolution and a second panel section implemented with a higher pixel resolution, an optical sensor disposed behind the first panel section of the display panel, and image processing circuitry communicatively coupled to the display panel. The image processing circuitry receives source image data corresponding with the image, in which the source image data is indicative of target luminance of a display pixel, determines a pixel resolution surrounding the display pixel, processes the source image based at least in part on the pixel resolution surrounding the display pixel to facilitate determining display image data corresponding with the display pixel, and outputs the display image data to enable the display panel to display the image based on the display image data.

A display apparatus is disclosed. The display apparatus includes a display panel configured to drive a frame of a first resolution at a first frame rate, a communication interface comprising circuitry configured to receive content, and a processor configured to, based on a frame rate of the received content being greater than the first frame rate, adjust the received content to a second resolution, and to control the display panel to display a content of the second resolution at a second frame rate, the second frame rate being greater than the first frame rate.

An example display apparatus includes a display panel configured to drive a frame of a first resolution at a first frame rate, a communication interface comprising circuitry configured to receive content, and a processor configured to, based on a frame rate of the received content being greater than the first frame rate, adjust the received content to a second resolution, and to control the display panel to display a content of the second resolution at a second frame rate, the second frame rate being greater than the first frame rate.

A display device includes a display panel configured to display images, a data driver configured to supply data voltages to the display panel, and a controller configured to control the data driver, wherein the controller operates in a normal mode having normal driving conditions and a power saving mode having driving conditions for reducing power consumption and lowers a driving frequency and an environment of an interface connected to the data driver as compared to a driving frequency and an interface environment in the normal mode when operating in the power saving mode.

A method of supporting divided screen areas and a mobile terminal employing the same are disclosed. An electronic device according to various embodiments may include a display panel, a Display Driving Integrated Circuit (DDIC) operatively coupled to the display panel, and a processor operatively coupled to the DDIC. The DDIC may be configured to receive, from the processor, a signal indicating that a first resolution is to be converted to a second resolution while displaying an image at the first resolution through the display panel, based on a horizontal synchronization signal including a first porch interval, change a length of the porch interval in response to the reception, and display the image at the second resolution through the display panel, based on the horizontal synchronization signal including the porch interval having the changed length.

Discussed is a display device including a display panel including first and second display areas that differ in the number of sub-pixels per unit area, a data driver that generates data voltages, and supplies the data voltages to the sub-pixels in the corresponding areas, and a power supply part that generates first display area high-potential power for the first display area and second display area high-potential power for the second display area, and supplies the first and second display area high-potential powers to the corresponding display areas. Each of the sub-pixels includes a switching transistor connected to a gate line and a data line, and a pixel circuit including a driving transistor that is turned on in response to a data voltage stored in a storage capacitor, and supplies a driving current to an organic light-emitting diode positioned between a first power line and a second power line.
