Described herein are embodiments of sensorized spherical input and output devices, systems, and methods for capturing gestural input from a user's physical interactions with a spherical device, including tossing, bouncing and spinning. In one embodiment, the spherical input and output device includes force sensors in a configuration to capture a variety of user gestures with the sphere. A microprocessor receives sensor input and transmits the sensor data to receiving devices which include computer software to translate the sensor signals to audio output, visual output, or various functions on receiving devices. Embodiments of the invention include the integration of inertial measurement units (IMUs), which may include a combination of accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers to capture complex user gestures involving motion, direction and spin of the sensorized sphere in three dimensional space.

KEYBOARD DEVICE FOR KEYBOARD INSTRUMENT
20220084484 · 2022-03-17 ·

A keyboard device for a keyboard instrument, capable of largely reducing noise generated when a hammer contacts a lower limit stopper during key release immediately after key depression. The keyboard device includes a keyboard chassis disposed on a keybed, keys pivotally supported on the chassis, hammers pivotally supported on the chassis below the keys and each vertically pivotally moved, an intermediate rail mounted on the chassis below a rotational shaft of the hammers and its vicinity in a state floating from the keybed, and a lower limit stopper mounted on the intermediate rail, such that each hammer is placed thereon via its placement-contact portion when in a key-released state and contacts the same from above via the placement-contact portion when pivotally moving downward in accordance with key release after being moved upward by key depression, whereby further pivotal motion of the hammer is stopped.

FLEXIBLE PITCHED SLIDING KEYBOARD INSTRUMENT AND INTERFACE
20220101815 · 2022-03-31 ·

A musical keyboard interface capable of controlling either a string instrument or synthesizer controller includes a small, consistent keyboard interface that moves with each hand along one or both edges of a stationary ruler. The ruler segments measure the static location of each note in chromatic order. The keys are oriented in length perpendicular to the length of the ruler and each key is as wide as each ruler segment. As the keyboard moves along the ruler and its keys realign with new ruler segments, the keys become able to articulate the notes indicated by their position. The transformation is gradual, smoothly sliding notes and chords in varying magnitudes and directions simultaneously.

METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING KEYBOARD INSTRUMENT

A method for assembling a keyboard instrument includes installing a keyboard unit on a lower case such that an insertion hole of a key-connecting part of the keyboard unit is positioned corresponding to a lower side installation part of the lower case; thereafter, placing a upper case on the keyboard unit such that an upper side installation part of the upper case is positioned inside the insertion hole of the key-connecting part of the keyboard unit and mates with the lower side installation part of the lower case; and while the upper side installation part of the upper case is positioned inside the insertion hole of the key-connecting part of the keyboard unit and mates with the lower side installation part, inserting a fastening member into the upper side installation part and the lower side installation part to fix the upper case to the lower case via the fastening member.

ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT, METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

An electronic musical instrument includes: a plurality of keys that include at least first keys corresponding to a first pitch range and second keys corresponding to a second pitch range; and at least one processor, configured to perform the following: in accordance with a key operation in the first pitch range, determining a syllable position contained in a phrase; and in accordance with a key operation in the second pitch rang, instructing a sound production of a digitally synthesized sound corresponding to the determined syllable position.

KEYBOARD MUSICAL INSTRUMENT

A keyboard musical instrument includes a musical instrument case including an upper case, and a lower case having a concave part provided on a lower surface and opened on an outer peripheral surface-side, and a strap pin fixing portion is arranged in the concave part.

There is provided a keyboard instrument in which a plurality of white keys and a plurality of black keys are arranged in a widthwise direction, a total width dimension of the plurality of white keys that constitute one octave is set to 160 mm or less, and a width dimension of an upper surface of each of the black keys is set to 9 mm or more and 10.5 mm or less.

System and method for a networked virtual musical instrument

A system and method for operating and performing a remotely networked virtual musical instrument. A client transmits musical control data to a remote server over the network, encompassing a digital music engine and digitally sampled virtual musical instruments. In return, the client consumes, synchronizes, and mixes the combined server playback stream from the network of the fully expressive and interactive musical performance with zero audible latency.

Sound output device and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium

A sound output device comprising a data storage device storing a first sound signal, a second sound signal, and a third sound signal and a controller including a processor that implements instructions stored in a memory to execute a plurality of tasks, including a sound signal output tasks that reads the first and second sound signals or the first and third sound signals from the data storage device based on first information included in an instruction signal that instructs outputting of sound, the first information designating a magnitude of the sound and outputs the read sound signals.
